Tap @ brewery. Reddish brown appearance with a cream colored head. Toffee, caramel, hazelnuts, slightly burnt malty nose. Weird fruity sweetness in the flavor along with caramel, nuts, and some toastiness. Finish is quite sweet. notalush (5867) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 4, 2011
Jeez what a mess - loads of sugary sweetness - quite nutty, but not the hearty, sweet nuttiness you expect from the style - more like burnt peanut skins - leafy, tobacco-like bitterness - bready and yeasty - charred sugars and husky grains on the tail end - another miss on this trip - oh, well - time to order a pint of then smoked lager! onceblind (9442) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 3, 2011
On tap @ brewery. Hazy brown with an orange tint, very small white head. Aroma of maple syrup with mild chocolaty tones and nuttiness. Lovely flavor of maple, roast chestnuts, and chocolate cereal grains. A little light on the body, but refreshing and very flavorful. Well done!
