Pour on tap at the brewery, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of rich vanilla, graham, some chocolate, hints of smoky notes, slight acidity, touch of dark fruits laced in there. Taste is a mix of dark fruits with chocolate, some sweet vanilla, caramel, crackery notes, some slight earth, finishing fairly sweet. onceblind (9867) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 16, 2012
Clear black with a medium khaki head with nice lacing. The aroma--much like the non-imperial version--has lots of sweet chocolate tones mixed with graham cracker, vanilla, light caramel, and sweet toffee goodness. Taste is much the same, in fact very similar to non-imperial version with loads of chocolaty sweetness, caramel, vanilla, and graham cracker tones. Virtually identicall, but deceivingly smooth. cubs (10639) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - AUG 16, 2012
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2012 Tap @ Denver Beer Co. Deep brown appearance with a brown head. Milk chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, light coffee chewy bready aroma. Smells nice. Somewhat fruity, plum/fig, chocolate, marshmallow, roasty flavor. Some acidity. Ok.
