Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Great fresh chili notes, taste is earthy with a heat that sneaks up on you. drjay44 (3832) - Salida, Colorado, USA - FEB 20, 2012
Draft at the brewery. Pours a thin white head, with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy dark gold (SRM 6) body....nose is chili, with hints of malt.....taste is chili with mild heat, leading to a bitter astringent finish....mouth feel medium, carbonation high. As in so many in this style, the chili dominates completely, with minimal subtlety of chili type, or other beer constituents. BJCP 5/3/9/4/5 onceblind (10587) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Tap @ brewery. Slightly hazy darkish gold with a thin lacing head. Aroma of smoky roasted jalapeno, and other gently roasted chili peppers, with a slight bready tone. Taste has some roasted peppers, though pretty flavorful like a well made chille relleno or something. Nice spicy heat tone that doesn’t last too long on the palate, but is just right, like the gentle spice on a well made jalapeno cheddar cheese. Finishes like roasty charred pepper, smoky and delightful. A nice and mild but very flavorful chili beer. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2011
tap. mild to medium heat, it has that jalapeno jar water character, almost like brine. but has nice carbonation and body with firm malt, and it’s frothy and airy. fairly simple flavor-wise: your typical chile pepper brine character with medium heat and medium acid. probably the one i would drink regularly.

Nice beer-aroma is definitely of freshly roasted chilis as is taste. Golden with minimal head and lacing. No spice/heat, just nice green chili flavor on medium light base beer. Even handed and would be nice on a Indian Summer’s day.

On tap at Denver Beer poured a hazy tarnished gold with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of green chilies and bread. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Flavors of green chilies, bread and light straw with a smooth warming lingering chilie finish. cubs (10714) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 19, 2011
Tap @ brewery. Somewhat hazy, orange appearance with an off white head. Moderate chili pepper spiciness, green pepper, mild pale malty aroma. Slight veggie, chili pepper, moderately spicy flavor. The pepper is the main aspect of the beer but it’s nice. notalush (5922) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - OCT 16, 2011
Hazy gold - quite a sweet malt profile on this, which actually works because the chili flavor seems a bit on the sweet side, like they used roasted chilis in the beer - a light smokiness perhaps confirms this - nicely warming pepper spice, but not overdone - a bit of honey and fruitiness, but mostly the chilis are showcased well here - tasty.
