Cask handpull at the Tap, Derby. Amber/red with a small, thin, off-white head resting on top. Gentle aroma: a touch of berry with fusty malt. Sweet malty taste with some grainy savoury notes. Medium to long finish, with Horlicks and marzipan in the aftertaste. An odd little beer, certainly drinkable but far from perfect.

A pale Amber ale with a caramel aroma, some grassiness, caramel malty flavour, slightly bitter finish. Reasonably pleasant, but middle of the road and nothing special.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Ales by Males. Pours totally clear copper with a foamy, mostly white head. The nose is simple berry fruits, light bread, leaves, toasted grain. Light-medium sweet flavor with pleasant, rounded berry fruit sugars, low bitterness, touches of leaves, faint grass, apple, very mild toffee accents, bready malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish with further bready malt character, berries, apple, slight grain and leaf. Tasty, easygoing bitter.

One-third pint, tap at the brewpub, The Tap. Clear amber coloured body. Good amount of lacework from a low beige head. Caramel-driven aroma and taste leading to a bittersweet finish. Easy to drink. Straightforward (Derby 22.02.2015).
