Handpull cask at the Rutland & Derby, Leicester. Dark brown, translucent, with a tan creamy head. Lots of liquorice, charcoal, a touch of blackberry in the nose. Sweet taste with a slight medicinal bitterness. Medium to long finish with lots more liquorice in the aftertaste. Heavy body with soft carbonation. Not a bad brew. sound67 (761) - Offenbach, GERMANY - FEB 15, 2017
On tap at The Tap, Derby. Feb 13, 2017. Pitch black, wee head. Almost no carbonation. Vanilla, dark chocolate, liquorice in the aroma. Texture is mildly oily, still a bit watery, too. At first a bit sweetish, very malty, very chocolaty. Roasted malts in the background at first, but they come to the fore in the middle, with a sour liquorice twist. Drier towards the end, still a bit sour. Dark cocoa, dry liquorice. Aftertaste is long and mildly sour, with dark chocolate and a hint of espresso. More of a stout than a porter. fonefan (50004) - VestJylland, DENMARK - FEB 6, 2017

Cask in The Corn Mill Llangollen. Ciemna barwa z delikatna rubinowa poswiata. Piana mala bezowa. Piwo niezle palone z posmakiem lukrecji kawy i czekolady. Dosc slodkie. Przyjemne i delikatne w teksturze jednak jak dla mnie dosc wodniste. Jednak po prawie 20km chodzenia po gorach wybrzydzac nie bede. Rune (13186) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 11, 2016

Cask conditioned at The White Horse, Banbury, Oxon. Very dark brown with cream head. This proved to be a sweet, malty beer with a liquorice flavour, hints of chocolate perhaps and a vague boiled vegetable note. Reasonable enough. Cask conditioned handpump Criterion Leicester 13/03/14. A black beer with a little beige head. A fruity and roasty nose. Fruity with dry coffee in the mouth. A lingering finish. A tasty beer which I had down as a stout.
