Clear golden color, good white head, lace. English hoppy aroma with light spicey and fruity note and some yeast. Medium-bodied. Fruity and a bit yeasty flavor. Sweetish peachy and citrusy hoppy notes. Very English.
Cask at NWAF, Derby, ’14. Pale gold pour with a white head. Sweet fruit aroma. Nice fruit action in the flavour- lots of apricot, pear and kiwi. Nice and refreshing. Idiosynkrasie (8518) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 11, 2014
500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has notes of gosseberry, red berries, a touch of apricot, hints of floral hop. Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, fruity hints of gosseberry, red berries, hints of apricot, a peppery spicy touch, dry, minimally herbal hoppy overtones that turn floral in the finish. Really nice, the golden colour worked as red herring concerning my expectations. Leighton (23692) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 6, 2013
Cask at The Great Western during the RateBeer Black Country Bus Bash. Pours golden with a fine white head. Some citrus in the aroma, dry pale bread too. Light sweet flavor with hay, faint metal, dried orange. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish with more dried citrus. OK

Flavours are toasted lager malts with crisp lemon and bitter lemon. Yeasty and grassy with low pine and grapefruit. Some sweet tropical fruit. Cask @ The Great Western during the RB Black Country Bash. The pour’s gold with a small head. The nose is peach, pear. Nice summery fruits. A bit of honeyed grass. Countryside. The taste is honey. Mild lemony hop bitterness. More pear. Pale malt. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, quite pleasant. An easy, summery beer. Brigadier (3830) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - JUL 17, 2013
On tap at the brewpub
This was a passable beer but ultimately nothing more than a distraction. I was just waiting to pass some time before the beer festival opened down the street. Based on this, and one other sample, I probably will not be returning any time soon to get more ticks at the Brewery Tap.
Aroma / Appearance - A golden transparent base is coppery and flat (as almost all cask ales are). Caramel syrup, Twix, and light malts give it some character. Overall though it is just another ESB from a hand pump.
Flavor / Palate - Honey, melons, and a bittersweet tang wrap around the tongue. A burst of orange peels carries into the mild bitter finish. This then dissipates with seconds. It is a good session beer but much like too many other cask ales suffers from the curse of "real ale." It’s worth a tick but not much more.
