2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask conditioned at The Whitefriars Ale House, Coventry. Black with faint trace of head. Sour tart notes to the fore with this, there is a background roasty bitterness, but this is just an aside to the acidic character. Not good.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask conditioned handpump Coach & Horses Wellingborough 06/06/13. A near black beer with a purple hue anda little white ring of bubbles. An acidic edge to this stout. Fruity licorice notes. Hints of roasted malts. Has richness but the acidity spoils.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
At Hucknall Beer Festival - a fairly ordinary stout, black body, tan head which doesn’t last too long. The nose is pleasingly smoky, roast coffee and liquorice, but the taste doesn’t carry it through as strong as I’d like. A fairly dry body, albeit a bit thin. Quite good for a session.
