A good belgian ale, not over the top. I dont dig the aroma though, smelling skunk a bit, maybe its a bad batch. Took in the microbrew pub. Taste and look is great though. Except for the aroma, its all you can expect from a belgian ale.

Pris à la microbrasserie. Blonde 5.1%. Arôme floral. Goût de grain et pas vraiment d’amertume

On tap at brewpub. An almost clear whitish blonde with a short-lived white head. Aroma is yeast. Flavor is sugar, yeast, cake, herbal finish. Lingering sugar and herbal bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Okay!

(Rating #4630)

My Bottom Line:
Well-defined cereals support herbal hops and their lengthy bitterness for a textbook Belgian-style Ale (although not bottle conditioned).

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sturdy head of foam tops the shiny pale straw gold.
-The prickly, forced carbonation makes this brew feel more intense in the hop department.
-The body is lean and helps drinkability greatly.
-The base malt flavors recall cracking straw.

On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at brewpub.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with small head.
Aroma : Honeyed cereals with herbal hops. Quite malty. Some belgian yeast.
Taste : Herbal and floral with light malt. Less belgian yeast notes than on nose.
Overall : Quite drinkable and tasty. Well balanced. Nice malt. All in all a very well made beer that is quite enjoyable to drink but that isn’t very complex.

On tap at Bateau de Nuit. Pours hazy pale blond with medium white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is of belgian yeast, citrus. Taste is of belgian yeast, malt, citrus, sligthly bitter finish, faint spices. Palate: Light body. Overall: Fair beer. Good balance, refreshing. Not very complex, but it’s not the point of that one.

on tap at brewpub. clear light golden with a decent white head, retention and lacing. cereals, spices, some breadiness, fruitiness, hint of pepper. average carbonation, almost prickly, light body, decent herbal-citrusy finish. honest belgian ale.
