Its fitting this experimental pale ale was the first beer brewed at our Portland Pub. This XPA gets its bitter twist from Nugget, and Northern Brewer hops, then delivers a pronounced citrus kick from Cascade, Centennial and Citra hops. Consider this your next hop obsession.

Draught at St. Augustines, Vancouver
Clean light amber color with creamy head. The aroma offers a good amount of PNW hops, and very nice cereals; smooth and dry mouthfeel; the malt flavor is a bit grainy, the hops provide some citrus quality, and strong bitterness, possibly too much bitterness in the final.

Many years ago, when it was created, this would have been a top beer in the category; nowadays one would expect a different Pale Ale. But its still a very good beer, clean and well brewed.
