COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a dark beer as our first and flagship brand, Black Butte defined Deschutes as a radical player. A slight hop bitterness up front enhances the distinctive chocolate and roasted finish. It’s prized for its creamy mouthfeel and intense complex flavors.

At Sea-Tac in the mexican place. Pours very dark brown with reddish highlights. Tannish head with great spotty lacing. Aroma has coffee, choco-caramel. Taste follows sweet with some roasty bitterness. Nice solid porter.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2018 This beer was personally not very impressive to me. The aroma was very misleading from the bottles description. It does in fact go down smooth but the taste is a bit overbearing. Not sure if I will drink this again. It was a better beer when it was not as cold.

Good representative of Porter style. Roasted, bitter, lasting flavor lingers on the pallet.

the_beergery (213) - - JAN 1, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2018 355 ml bottle. Pour is dark black topped with light tan or off white froth which dissipates to a thin ring. Aromas are mostly dark chocolate at first with roasted malts. Taste is dominated by roasted malts, so little sweetness, and mostly dry. Mouthfeel is creamy due to carbonation.

Chokolade og mørke malte, næsten ingen humle. Fin balance i en let porter, som man sagtens kan have flere af.

Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: 12 ounce bottle. Appearance: This has a nice look dark in color with about a finger of head. Aroma: light hop bitterness, malty, coffee and chocolate and a bit resiny. Taste: This is a very easy drinking porter. Well balanced on the flavor and overall just a great taste for 5.2 ABV. Palate: Slight carbonation, not to heavy, very drinkable. Overall I really enjoy this porter, definetely a nice balance of flavor and tart just what I expect from a porter. Not too sweet either.
