4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A hint of oats and coffee in the nose. Upon the intial taste it gives a light caramel flavor, oats, and a hint of coffee. A nice dry finish.
Chocolatey aroma is dominant, pours a dark colour with creamy head. Smooth creamy mouthfeel for sure! Flavours of chocolate and malt are prominent. Would love a glass of this porter some evening in the dead of winter!

Right from the first sip you could taste the chocolate. Though there is a slight bitterness the chocolate comes through perfectly. Has a rich dark colour. It’s definitely a beer I would have again.

Dark brown beer with a medium foamy tan head. Nose of cola, cocoa, and candied nuts. Flavor is fairly rich with semi-sweet chocolate, light coffee, and vanilla finished with a chalky bitterness that lingers pleasantly. With a slightly creamy mouth feel, this is a solid, mild porter. balloonbuffoon (320) - - JUL 17, 2017
12floz bottle, $1.50 unit price, BBD: 11.04.2017, mug glass. Presents itself blackish-brown in color and a one-finger, big bubbles head. The smell isn’t very impressive, charcoal with hint of toffee. Tastes better though, moderately roasty and dark chocolate comes through just a tad. Palate is mostly dry, but velvety textures ripple through every now and then. In short, a decent basic American porter and nothing more. eallenbrown (15) - - JUL 16, 2017
Nice porter with some traditional aspects, but a little on the sweet side.still, drinkable and approachable. Nothing blows you away, but it goes down quick.

bottle. Poured deep brown with a creamy tan head. Roasty coffees aroma. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sticky finish. Flavour of roasted malts, bitter sweet with notes of coffee bean, cocoa powder, a bit herbal. freekyp (2257) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - JUL 5, 2017
Black butte is known as a standard amongst porters for good reason. Pours dark black capped off with a creamy dollop of dark tan head. Every sip leaves a ring of lace. Milk chocolate nose with some fresh coffee. Medium creamy body is mouthfilling. Ends with a spritzy wash of bubbles and a bit of cola character. An easy drinking porter that is highly sessionable, yet full flavored, despite being just above 5%. Bacchus66 (375) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 4, 2017

Fantastic Porter that is full bodied and delicious. Reminds me of a very good cup of coffee.
