I love the fig notes that come out of the glass. It’s very think and has a taste that remains on the pallet. It’s best if you allow the beer to rise in temperature as the aromas will release fuller. I can also taste the carmel and chocolate. They seem to come out very strong remain on the tongue even after tasting. I think you’ll be pleased with how this beer has turned out.
Draught @ Beer Junction. Dark brown. Nutty, soy sauce, little bit of brown sugar...barrel, lots of that. Soft, sweet, rich barrel with just a touch of alcohol. Complex and rich.

Nose is more biscuit, licorice and subtle cocoa nibs. Pallet is date, licorice, coca nibs and bourbon.

Draught at Belmont Station. Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, nuts, coffee, wood, dark fruits, licorice, a bit of chocolate and oak. Poured black in color with tan head. Moderately thin body with light mouthfeel. Roast dominance with dry fruit shinning through and moderately sweet, but the roast really lingers. Sweet roasted aroma.

Got this is a trade quite awhile ago. Lost track of it. No matter, it still is really great. Aroma of weak bourbon on top of figs, sugar coated currents, raisins, and oak.

No oxidation is found which is very impressive. The bourbon portion of the blend preserved it nicely. Mild roasted backbone, oak, chocolate, vanilla hints, plenty of dark fruit. Nice.
Tasted on 9/22/16 from a waxed and capped 22oz bomber bottle purchased some time ago. Pours clear, deep brown, with a very thick brown head that slowly recedes to average, uneven lace. The nose is brown sugar, molasses, dates, figs, vanilla cola, some charred oak, coffee, fudge brownie, maple, with some alcoholic heat. The flavor is even more fruity fig, black currant, date, along with plenty of vanilla cola, maple, caramelized brown sugar, fudge brownie, and coffee bitterness. Aroma: Dark chocolate, tempered bourbon and vanilla, dark berry, dark cocoa and Italian roast coffee.
Palate: Full-bodied that has lost most of it’s baby fat.
Flavor: Much like the nose.

Dark beer with a big aroma of dried fruit and chocolate covered cherries. This is a big, complex beer with lots of chocolate, dried cherries, bourbon, wood, vanilla, molasses, and a warming cherry cordial finish. The ABV sneaks up on you. Very nice, full flavored dessert beer.
