COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 26th anniversary imperial porter was aged in bourbon barrels and dry spiced with theo chocolates cocoa nibs, revealing hints of vanilla and chocolate. Pomegranate molasses and Oregon cranberries complement the robust flavor with a hint of fruits and just enough tart to make you smile. Bomber. Black with heavy particulate and a light brown foamy head. Molasses, cranberry, raspberry, light smoky bourbon, wood and dark chocolate. Has a dark chocolate medium sweetness followed by the dry bourbon and finishes lightly tart. Very balanced yet complex. Heavier body with a syrupy feel.

Thank you Maakun. 650 ml. bottle sampled @ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Black with mocha bubbles. Nose is thick warming molasses, quite boozy, syrupy with low vanilla. Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla and dark fruits. The taste was similar to the aroma with more bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, molasses, and some spices. It had a real nice warm aftertaste. Really good.

6/13/15 Bottle date. Musty alcohol on the nose. Hints of bitter chocolate, burnt brown sugar, and a whiff of vanilla. Ebony with nice deep tan head. Very sweet up front. Acidic dark berry flavors mixed in with dark chocolate malty notes. Bitterness is hidden by acidic tones from cranberries. Musty almost sour jolt comes next. Slightly slick mouth feel. Finish is mostly sour, with alcohol burn. Nice and warm and well made but not my cup of tea.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is dark and fruity with lots of chocolate and lighter roast notes. Some hints of tobacco and leather with some bourbon notes and light oak. Fairly fruity with cherry, plum, berry and prune. Light alcohol spice. Pours dark brown to black with a medium large, thick, dark tan head that recedes slowly to a thin film that lingers thicker and creamier on the edges. Moderate lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with quite a bit of chocolate and fruit. Lighter roast notes, tobacco and leather. Light oak and bourbon notes. Fairly fruity which adds some sweetness with some berry, cherry, plum and prune. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low to medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, I guess this might be a better beer than I was expecting, but its still fairly odd. Fruity and chocolate forward with some light tartness.

Bottle shared @ Borefts Pre-tasting. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, raisins, bourbon, sweet, a slight touch of red fruits, quite some alcohol, lightly fruitpeel tart. Medium body, firm carbonation. Hmm ok but not as good as I had hoped.
