Every year, we celebrate our anniversary with an imperial, barrel-aged version of our flagship Black Butte Porter. Our brewers love to experiment and they always add some fun new ingredients to this beer like chilies, cranberries, figs and other such treats. This year, to celebrate 28 years of brewing, they’ve added the interesting mix of ingredients above for another multi-layered flavor experience.

AirForceHops (7319) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 18, 2017
650 ml bottle. Bottled on 6/ 2016. Very dark brown, thin head. Flavor is real nice, roasted malts, chocolate, mild oak, light citrus peel in the finish. Mild carbonation, fuller body for a porter. Mild smoky hints. It does show some mild booze, still decent.

Bottle shared in NH - big thanks to AirForceHops. Pours deep brown with a frothy, khaki head. Nice aroma, rounded roasted malt character, cocoa, dried dark fruits. Medium sweet flavour with a hint of booze, rich chocolate, more roast, raisins, a little plum. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with further dried dark fruits, rich and rounded chocolate, soft roast, a little vanilla, mellow ash. Great depth, and also really drinkable. One of the better Black Buttes I can recall. Excellent.

Bomber from AFH. brown edges. nearly black in the glass. 2 finger espresso head. fait aroma of cocoa, chlorine and licorice. Licorice flavor, a little vanilla but very faint. Not getting the other adjuncts. dark fruit finish with a lot of barrel. Tasty but too much licorice.

Bomber. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Rich aroma of bourbon, peat, cocoa, vanilla, and orange. Not digging the orange peel in this, but it’s great outside of that.

A fantastic brew. I think my favorite to date of the black butte series. Lots of dark chocolate and cocoa flavours with this one. Bready, malty, delicious. Sweet and bourbon like finish. Awesome.

DonGregorio (440) - POLAND - JUL 23, 2017

Black pour with frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, red fruit, tobacco and hops. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, slight fruit, oak vanilla and bourbon notes. Full bodied, medium carbonation, perfectly balanced.

tomekboniek (777) - Warsaw, POLAND - JUN 27, 2017
Butelka. Kakao, wanilia, suszone owoce. Słodkie, czekolada, skórka pomarańczy, bourbon. Konsystencja nie jest lepka, lecz aksamitna. Bardzo pijalne, alkohol świetnie ukryty.
