Black pour with dark tan head. Aroma is roast chocolate malt and sweet vanilla. Taste has coffee and chocolate. The bourbon and scotch is noticeable. Really lie this. gyllenbock (9704) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 11, 2017
Bottle, thanks Eddan. Black with a medium tan head. A pleasant one with dark malt, chocolate, some dried fruit and cocoa. Smooth and nicely drinkable.

@ Eddan 17-9-16: Mycket trevlig med toner av torkat frukt samt lite choklad och vanilj i eftersmaken. Len och fin kermis (14478) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 3, 2017

Bottle shared. Near black with a ring tan head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, cocoa and overripe dark fruits. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
Wonderful sipper....stretch one 22 oz. bottle through an entire evening. Cocoa with a hint of bitterness dominates. Mouthfeel is sublime. I’m not a huge fan of Deshutes BB porter....but this barrel aged version is ridiculously good.

Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with a thin ring of bubbly tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma of big dark fruit notes over roasty malts and a hint of barrel, booze throughout. Taste is more of the barrel, less of the roast, more of the dark fruitiness. Interesting, and tasty. SG111 (1973) - New York, USA - AUG 20, 2017
Sampled at MBGC. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is chocolate, cherry, dark fruit, slightly cinnamony. Flavor is slightly bourbony, vanilla, toffee, dark fruit, bitter. Wow, that’s really bitter finish. It’s fine. AirForceHops (7679) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 18, 2017
650 ml bottle. Bottled on 6/ 2016. Very dark brown, thin head. Flavor is real nice, roasted malts, chocolate, mild oak, light citrus peel in the finish. Mild carbonation, fuller body for a porter. Mild smoky hints. It does show some mild booze, still decent. Leighton (22027) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2017
Bottle shared in NH - big thanks to AirForceHops. Pours deep brown with a frothy, khaki head. Nice aroma, rounded roasted malt character, cocoa, dried dark fruits. Medium sweet flavour with a hint of booze, rich chocolate, more roast, raisins, a little plum. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with further dried dark fruits, rich and rounded chocolate, soft roast, a little vanilla, mellow ash. Great depth, and also really drinkable. One of the better Black Buttes I can recall. Excellent. AdamChandler (5150) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 18, 2017
Bomber from AFH. brown edges. nearly black in the glass. 2 finger espresso head. fait aroma of cocoa, chlorine and licorice. Licorice flavor, a little vanilla but very faint. Not getting the other adjuncts. dark fruit finish with a lot of barrel. Tasty but too much licorice.
