Deep copper pour with tan head and lace. Caramel malt and earthy hops on the aroma. Light caramel and yeasty sourness, light semi sweet malt with a medium bitter followed by a hint of butter. Foamy medium bodied beer. Not special but easily drinkable. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 15, 2009
12 oz Bottle. Pours a strange red hued brown with a good beige head. Nose is caramelly malts. Flavors are very watered down. Some caramel malt is about all to speak of. Just a simple brown ale here. BelgianBeerGal (4039) - Panama City, Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2009
Local bottle. Really just boring overall. Nice looking beer but the flavour was very thin, just some roasted malt. Not bad, just nothing exciting. jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 10, 2009
12oz bottle-pours a dissipating tan head and copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, roasty. Taste is buttery, secondary sweet medium malt-caramel, roasty/chocolate, some herbal/earthy hops, yeasty sour. LinusStick (3446) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 10, 2009
Blah. A boring and bland brown ale via trade with Chewy. Happy to try it, though. Aroma was weak. Mostly alcohol and medicine. Pour was a nice enough thin clear light brown with a one finger light tan head. Taste was thin and watery with not much flavor other than light alcohol and grains. Nice carbonation and would be a good session beer with more flavor. I would not expect to taste alcohol in a 4.*% beer.

Pours with a dark brown hue with no head whatsoever.
Aroma is of dark fruits, soil, mocha, and some barley.
Flavor is somewhat watery, smoky - there are some hints of barley and whole grains in the flavor as well.
Light - medium mouthfeel with lively carbonation. War4soccer (115) - , Nevada, USA - MAR 8, 2009

Bottle. Pours with a tan head and an amber brown body. Good lace. Aroma of hops, vanilla, maple, nuts and light spice. Taste is nutty with maple and molasses. Light bubbles dryish. Solid like all of Deschutes’s stuff, but some what forgettable. marctacoma (35) - Fircrest, Washington, USA - FEB 27, 2009
Aroma’s floral, color is light copper/brown. Initial taste has cascade hops and some light malty sweetness.
All in all, not amazing - the malt isn’t special at all. But a tasty session beer nonetheless. Plamadude30k (122) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - FEB 22, 2009
A very average brown, nothing too entirely special. Enjoyable, a little sweet, a bit nutty. I kind of wish there was something more to this beerso ypou
