Pours a hazy yellow. A light beer in that is refreshing and easy to drink. Sweet lemon flavors with enough hops to make it more complex. arnold931 (1263) - Iowa, USA - MAY 8, 2014
Tap. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is wheat, citrus and cloves. Taste is lemony and wheaty. GarrettB (1621) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 6, 2014
August 23rd, 2012 - White IPAs seemed to be a big deal back in 2012, though I don’t know where many of them went. Deschutes’ Chainbreaker is still around, though, and that persistent popularity speaks to two qualities: Deschutes large distribution network, and the provisioning of a good White IPA. For those of us with less tolerance for dank, weedy and bitter beers than most, an IPA with a softer touch is something worth sighing longingly about. This brew’s aroma explains why: soft and buttery, with a touch of golden, yeasty biscuits, a light whiff of dandelion, and the distinct peal of pilsner malt. The flavor shares the aroma’s light and buttery flavor, served with a velvety soft palate. And again, the biscuit, dandelion and yeasty flavors appear again in the taste, but the hoppiness is a bit more pronounced, and nicely balanced against the menagerie of baker’s shop smells. A medium aftertaste carries this complementary flavor forward, giving each sip the sensation of being valuable succor from the more regular and uniformed IPAs out there in the world, especially here on the Wes Coast. Pale white color like a wheat beer, overly floral with strong coriander overtones.

Cloudy light yellow, decent white head. Grain citrus, spice and yeast in nose. Middle is lemon peel and spice (coriander and sage...nice.) Finish is light hops and creamy orange.

Pours a cloudy/hazy yellow color with white head. Citrus, wheat, grass, and flowery notes on the nose; follow onto the palate. Medium-bodied and just a bit chewy. Finish lingers on the palate. HuskerTan (2322) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - APR 25, 2014
A- Citrus, wheat, slight floral.
A- Pale yellow color, clear liquid, minimal head.
T- Citrus, grapefruit, wheat, slightly malty, mild bitterness.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth crisp finish.
O- A great IPA. I love the White IPA style and the citrus tones the Citra hops bring to this beer. Very smooth and almost reminds me more of a Pale Wheat Ale which certainly pleases me. Smooth and refreshing. Nothing wrong with that! MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - APR 24, 2014
On tap at Craft Beer Market in Calgary. Cloudy yellow with nice lacing. Lots of great floral notes and some mild citrus and pine. Really nice hop profile and not overpowering. bropgh (31) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2014
Honestly, this beer may not be at the top of wither the wit or ipa levels, and it doesn’t stand out as one over the other, but this beer is, for me at least, a great blend of my two favorite styles. Wow, the was an atrocious sentence...this has the wheat backbone with a light punch of hops that is a great drinker anytime of the day. joshharris (9) - St. Peters, Missouri, USA - APR 13, 2014 does not count
Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Pours a yellowish gold. Flakes prevalent. Small white head, disappears quickly. Taste is good, nothing too special.
