Hazy blond color with creamy head. Delicate aroma of cereals, chamomile, grass, yellow polenta. Lean and dry mouthfeel; the flavor has some hay and cereals accent; strong bitterness; soft hop resins, but lacking a bit in the fruity side; balanced and long final.
Good beer, but a bit disappointing compared to expectations.
bottle @ home. golden pour with a nice white head. aroma is fresh orange, floral hops, melon, and a light herbal note. sweet dough and biscuit as well. flavor is sweet up front with orange, dough, and biscuit. a bit of floral and grassy hops, melon, and a touch of peach. mild bitterness. bhensonb (15861) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 19, 2013
Bomber from the Davis Co-Op (CA). Pours translucent gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrus zest, almost, with earthiness. Full bodied til the carb leaves. It’s very hoppy. Very zesty. Orange. So strong that burnt rubber comes to mind. Why? Don’t know. It’s not all that bitter compared to the hugest NW IPAs, but it does not lack flavor and bitterness. I cannot recall a fresh hop beer that is so striking as this. It just bowls me over. Brilliant effing ale. Ratman197 (15474) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2013
Bomber poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of straw, grapefruit, lemon zest, grassiness, light orange zest and a hint of pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, lemon zest, grapefruit, light pine and a hint of orange zest with a crisp dry bitter lingering citrus finish. slowrunner77 (13006) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 22, 2014
had fresher than last years. a ton of floral and citric hops both in the nose and flavor without all the bitterness. Very easy going, yet delicious.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours turbid dark straw with off-white head. Nose is fresh wet hops, pale malt, black pepper, citrus. Tastes hoppy, black peppery, with hopcitrus. mild fruit, and some finishing white peppery spice notes. Fresh and delicious. marcus (10760) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 19, 2014
On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours. Dark golden with a thick beige head snd a floral aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a bitter finish. Refreshing. cubs (10721) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a hazy golden yellow appearance with a creamy white head. A bit chalky, grapefruity, somewhat dank, weedy, marijuana, slight lemon juicy, light tropical fruity aroma. Tangy melon, grapefruit juicy, leafy/herbal, somewhat chalky, a bit spicy hoppy flavor that finishes dry and a bit powdery. I’m not overly crazy about this but it is pretty clean and easy to drink. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 8, 2013
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, hazy orange pour with thin but lacing white head, aroma brought soft biscuit, cracker, some orange peel, orange marmalade, hints of grapefruit and lemon peel as well, slight spice in there as well. Taste is a mix of sweet orange, grapefruit, some lemony notes into a hint of grass, more sweet cracker, slight biscuity notes, nice hints of spice, finishing slightly bitter, some more lemon. Tasty but very light, more like a slightly hopped pale ale. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 2, 2013
Bottle. Strong lemon, cheese rind, peach and apricot, fruit skin, lemongrass, a bit of tropical gum, some melon, sweet squash turning to green, leafy vegetables, I guess that’s what you get when wet-hopping. Strong bitterness, medium body, a bit pasty and chalky in the finish but the bitterness overwhelms that yeast roughness. I liked the release last year and Deschutes does some of these IPAs well... this one is well made and expressive and represents Amarillo I guess, it’s just not one of my favorite hops.
