Like fresh powder, itís a seize-the-moment thing. At harvest, we rush Goschie Farmsí Cascade hops fresh from vine to kettle. Not any Cascades, mind you, but an heirloom strain, from a single field, restored from the original rhizome. Hope youíre as hopped up as we are.

Bomber from Pint Defiance, tap @ Parkway. Clear, lemon pour with a short white head leaving moderate lace. Nose is mostly fresh hops, with some toast underlying. Pine, caramel, corn and dough. Finish is long and bittersweet, though the sweetness is much more sucrose. Reminds me of Macís Hoprocker, which is a (hoppy) Pilsener...interesting.

Pour is a clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is suprisingly minimal. Maybe some lemon citrus note but thatís about it. Flavor is a little better. A decent hop bitterness with a little almost dry pils malt bringing things up at the end. This was just ok. I was hoping for this to be better but I never got that pungent hop I was looking for.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Clear golden with a small white head. Some nice hops are understated. A bit of sulfur. Grassy. Pale malts. Subtle and nice.

Pours pale straw with robust eggshell head. No real lace to speak of. Nose is flat with lemon and dishwater. Puny medium body with light toast, hints of lemongrass, and a slight cherry tang and ethanol burm to finish. Fair.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, grapefruit juice), lightly yeasty (dough), with a note of cane sugar. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The sweetness in this beer is very strange...itís overly strong, for one thing, but whatís weird is that it doesnít taste like malt sugar, itís just like refined/white cane sugar...very sharp and lasting. And there really isnít that much apparent bitterness. So itís not a lot of fun to drink, almost more like soda than beer. You can even smell it in the nose, itís like sniffing a bag of sugar. Not much else going on besides the floral-citrusy hops, but the hop odor is pleasant...more like ripe juicy grapefruit flesh than the acrid grapefruit rind that many hop treatments result in. Sadly one-dimensional overall though.

Draft into pint glass at Bittercreek Alehouse in Boise , Idaho on Nov. 2, 2012 for $6. Honey, pale, golden with light khaki gray head. Decent retention all-around. Smelled floral notes, honey, bread, corn and light lemon grass. Reminded me of a pilsner more than an IPA. Tasted similar to the smell, but a tad more fruity. Got floral notes, honey, banana, cloves, bread, skunky, corn and light lemon citrus. Still heavy on the pilsner notes. Light body. Thin texture. Above average carbonation. Bitter finish. Pretty disappointed. I was expecting something totally different. This beer just didnít impress me.

Pours a beautiful golden yellow with thin white head. Earthy aromas of pine, Meyer lemon, Pilsner malt and light grapefruit. Flavors of grapefruit, lemon cream, candied pineapple, bready pilsner malt, and pine needles with hints of ginger and honey. Med-light bodied. It is very supple, and silky in the mouth; reminds me of a fine blanc de blanc Champagne. The word that best sums up this ale is elegance, Its not a big "in you face" hop monster, hence itís lower score. A beautifully subtle and complex ale that is under appreciated by most hop-heads.

It has a regular yellow color in the glass with a small head. There is lemon zest and pine on the nose. Taste is a little tart with grapefruit and hops. Smooth finish.

Bottled. A yellow beer with an off-white bhead. The aroma has notes of lemons, peaches, and a bit of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and lemons, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Bottle at ōlbaren, thanks Alex. Clear golden coloured with a medium sized white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of hops, pine needles and flowers. Sweet and fruity flavour of hops, grass and grapefruits. Dry hoppy finish.
