Like fresh powder, it’s a seize-the-moment thing. At harvest, we rush Goschie Farms’ Cascade hops fresh from vine to kettle. Not any Cascades, mind you, but an heirloom strain, from a single field, restored from the original rhizome. Hope you’re as hopped up as we are.

Hop aroma is surprisingly absent, given a fresh hop IPA. Slight lager smell from the bottle. Hop taste is resin like with a little citrus. A little disappointed coming from Deschutes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bomber purchased at Royal in Kansas City, Missouri. Best before 12/27/12 on label. The pour is light haze golden, with a two inch clear white head. The aroma is soft floral, hay, some herbal lemon, and some citrus rind. Fresh interesting nose. The taste is really big, and has an odd menthol citrus rind right away. Under that is some honeydew fruit sweetness, herbal, grass, and some ester yeast in the back. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a drier finish. The flavors really surprised me, much bolder (and odder) than the nose prepared me for. Well made, just not entirely my cup of beer.

Clear, pale yellow with a frothy, white head. The aroma has really nice grapefruit, pine, and orange rind notes. It has a light body with watery texture and average carbonation. The taste fairly sweet up front, then the flavor becomes mildly bitter in the finish.

Another solid IPA from Deschutes. Other than Stoic, these guys don’t miss! 10 karat pour with a tightly packed ivory foam. Green, leafy, floral aroma with a nice bright citrus and subtle malt undertone. Clean and refreshing. Enjoyed it!

(bottle) pale gold, white head, nice lace. Faint floral/herbal aroma. Flavor is herbal, slightly sweet light fruit (pear), hints of floral hops.

lear and copper colored with a small off white head. A pine and citrus aroma is not big. But the flavor brings out floral notes with citrus. Fresh tasting hops. Caramel is light. Mild bitterness. This is good.

22oz. bottle, labeled best by 12/27/12. Fruity, lightly sweet and floral aroma, nicely hopped, some grapefruit and honey with notes of pale, grainy malts, resin and leafy herb. Mostly clear light golden color, with a fine, uneven head that leaves sheets of lace behind. Flavor profile shows plenty of malt and sweetness amongst the hops, with a light, pear-like fruitiness, grapefruit, faint pine, honey and a moderate degree of bitterness to close it out, the overall effect lending sort of a ’Strong Pils’ character. Turns almost grapey very late(?). Remarkably heavy on the palate, low in effervescence and with a medium-full body. Aftertaste starts to show a very unusual sweet, fruity, leafy hop character that lingers for some time. Interesting stuff, but turned oddly more difficult to drink after the first half of the bottle. Strange.

22oz bomber pours crystal clear gold with light tan head of foam. The aroma has floral malt sweetened notes, floral hop bitterness and a sense of kiwi fruit. Interesting taste as I get sugary sweetness, bold bitter floral hops and filled in there sort of between those notes, that are at odds with one another, are malt sweetened mango like tropical fruitiness. The sweetness, the hop bitterness and somewhat sweet tropical fruitiness go pretty well together. This wasn’t stellar but fairly enjoyable but I’m not sure I would buy it again.

It poured an amber/gold color with an off-white head. The aroma was floral and spicy with a hint of grass. The taste was fairly citrusy, with a bit of grapefruit rind and some lighter pitted fruits. Very good.

Beautiful clear golden straw color. Lots of carbonation with a nice one finger white head. Aroma has alot of malts in it, pilsner malts. Also some dank citrusy notes in there. A grassy quality to it. Taste is crispy malts, some funky yeasty notes, a little bitter floral thing going on. Maybe a little too much carbonation for m y taste. Pretty good but nothing overly special.
