Like fresh powder, it’s a seize-the-moment kind of thing. This year we’ve chased down Virgil Gamache farms, famed amarillo hops. At harvest, we rush the hops from the vine to our kettles to ensure we capture the purest, juiciest essence of the hop flower in every beer. Enjoy the bright, bold aroma and flavor that comes but once a year

Drinking thus after a CD Galactica, it seems almost like a light ipa! It features fresh Amarillo hops that are really lemony, with just a hint of pine. Crisp & slightly sweet finish.

Bomber pours surprisingly light golden color with a sticky white head. Aroma is very grapefruity, but I swear there are some simcoe hops in there. Get a strong aroma of cat piss. Very light-bodied and nice to drink. No real hint of the alcohol, maybe a bit of ethyl acetate. A nice ipa.

Bomber bought at the fairly new Smokes and Suds in CDA, ID. Aroma is doughy, rubbery, sulfur, grapefruit, chalky chewable vitamins, floral. Pours an extremely pale slightly hazy golden hue with a two finger white head with nice retention; sudsy lace sheets the glass after dissipation. Taste is lightly bittersweet, with the bitterness lingering long after the swallow; lemony, bready flavors. Creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation for style, medium body. Not too bad, but that rubbery sulfur smell is distracting. I wonder if too much sunlight got to it.

Bottle. A slightly hazy yellowish color with a white head. A hoppy grape aroma with flowers and some spice. Smooth but rather non descript in the flavor and palate, but it has a nice aroma and features the Amarillo hops well.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2014 Piny and bitter off the start awaken the mouth. Mid sip banana notes with a mild punch of yeast. Finishes with a flat hop taste that blankets the tongue. Good for a glass.

It must be a seasonal release. I didn’t know at the time that this was the 2013 release. Good. On tap at the Public House.

Bottle pours clear yellow with foamy white head. Very nice aroma of citrus and pine. Taste sweet bready malts with citrus. Slightly bitter finish. Light palate but seems to coat the moth pretty well. Enjoyable IPA.

2013 release. Pours clear gold with rocky white head. Huge orange zest and slightly spicy hops on the nose. More big orange zest up front, and little malt. It drys out nicely on the end with a slight lingering bitter orange. Fantastic.

Pours a pale yellow. Nice dank aromas. Sweetness too. Nice citrus notes. A very good IPA.
