12 oz bottle. Pours a very murky reddish brown color and capped by a thin layer of tan colored head that fades away quickly to a thin film and leaves spots of lace behind. The aroma shows notes of sweet caramel, dark fruits with cherries and plums most noticeable, and vinous oak with underlying notes of booze from the different barrels with spicy rye, bourbon, and cognac making an appearance. Very complex and inviting. The flavor follows suit and shows a complex blend of dark fruits, cherries, plums, raisins, sweet caramel, and oak while notes of bourbon, sherry, cognac, and red wine all come through as well. Hard to pick out the individual beers, but they all contribute in their own ways and contribute to the immense complexity of the beer. Nearly full bodied and very smooth with subtle carbonation that leads a slightly dry and sweet finish with lingering spirit notes without the heat. The blend is really nice and very well executed. Really good and complex stuff here. GenDV138 (7201) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - NOV 27, 2016

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours a semi-hazy amber orange colored brew with an average sized off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of candied dark fruits, a hint of bourbon, some brown sugar and floral hops. Taste is full bodied, with flavors of candied fruits, tawny port, bourbon and a hint of rye/caramel malt. Finish is semi-sweet, alcohol wamth with aftertastes of tart cherry, oak, bourbon and some dark fruits. jjgmd (2146) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - JUL 5, 2016
Pours an amber red color with virtually no head. Nose is sweet and fruity and oaky with some tannin notes. Taste is fruity with lighter caramel and sweet toffee with some oak notes. Strong tannins. Finish is dry, moderately sweet and ends on the same tasting notes with a barrel aged ending . quaff score 7 / 10

Pours a mostly clear light brown color with off-white, darker ivory colored head. Sweetness, caramel, dark fruits, cherry, berry, oak, plenty of barrel character, blends pleasantly, all on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with a berry, sherry, candied pecan type of sweetness. Well done, each of the barrels adds something to this beer. dnstone (3383) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 26, 2016
Sweet, boozy-malty aroma. Pours amber in color with an off-white head. A nice barleywin, sweet and malty with a cherry character. More complex than my notes give credit for.

12oz bottle so the story goes like this. O an epic collaboration with hotd a new series of cool fun beers. Who would have guessed it was like a year or more behind schedule thatís right thanks hotd for your half of the collaboration to make the beer flat so Deschutes had to do everything they could to make it carb up. Weíll finally the wait was over this is a limited amount o shit I had better buy like a half rack. Nope you can still find it around. Ok ok pours out a muddy amber brown topped with a small head yes some carbonation. Nose is nice big pit fruit rich malts lots of wood tons going on and over time like any hotd beer it has gotten much better. Taste is more of the fruit notes caramel lots of wood. koleminer20 (3463) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 27, 2016
From notes. Enjoyed at the 3rd Annual Barleywine Tasting at Travisís house on February 20. 12oz bottle. The pour on this thing is a darker brown with a nice light brown bit of lace that falls down leaving a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty good. There is a big booze right up front. There is definitely influence from multiple booze sources. You can pick up the sweetness of the cognac, the spiciness of the rye, and the traditional bourbon. There is a definite woody portion to this. There is a little tart fruit and a nice caramel and roasted malt. The flavors are pretty good. Itís not as complex as the nose, but it pretty decent. There is the caramel, the dark fruits, and a big booziness. Itís definitely very complex. The mouth feel is thicker and nice, with a sharper carbonation and a lingering sour booziness. Itís one of the more interesting beers Iíve had in quite some time. Most of the beers that are in it are detectable in some aspect. Itís pretty solid. Not too shabby. From a 12 oz bottle into a Chouffe tulip glass. Pours brown with head and lace. Aroma of tart and tangy fruit, sour mash, oak. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of dark tropical fruit juice, oak, bourbon, red wine, bitter herbs, plum juice, Cognac. Overall rich, bold, quite complex...perhaps a bit too complex but certainly interesting.
