COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Isn’t it how it always works? A few brewers sit around tippling and waxing poetic about what-ifs, wild ideas and untapped dreams when one suddenly proclaims "why not?" So the Conflux series was born, bravely leaping corporate and geographic barriers to jointly explore uncharted beeratory. Cheers, fellow explorers, cheers.

Second in a series, this citrusy, smooth white IPA is a fortuitous meeting of Deschutes’ hop skills and Boulevard’s deft wheat touch. What’s 1,800 miles when a great beer is at stake?

22 oz. bottle, pours cloudy blonde with a white head. Aroma of strong Belgian yeast, tons of spices, and some orange / lemon rind. Flavour of Belgian spices and yeast, some coriander, a little funk and lots of orange / lemon rind. Medium complexity, with a spicy finish. Preferred this to the Boulevard version.

Bomber from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours hazy slightly dirty gold - like green tea - with a slight creamy/bubbly whiteish head. Aroma is something like citrus combined with asparagus. With maybe some basil tossed in the mix. Passing strange stuff. Med body. I honest to gosh think this is a mix of basil and some standard citrus hop. Lots of basil. Well it’s damn drinkable, and I’m thinking it’d go well with something Italian. It’s bitter in the finish, and it’s certainly easy to drink. Course I think you gotta be really fond of basil to get into this. I had basil/tomato dressing on my lunch today, I’ve got basil in the kitchen window, so basil is on my mind!

Ratman197 (15212) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 11, 2011
Bomber poured a hazy yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of sage, coriander, wheat and lemon. Palate was light to medium odied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of sage, coriander, wheat and light citrus with a smooth dry lingering spiced finish. Even less Hoppy than Boulevards version. Why do they call this a White IPA???
