Bomber. Pours a clear amber, medium white head, rapid dissipation (probly my glass).... Nose is pineapple heavy, some other tropical notes (guava, passion fruit, mango) and some cat pissy basement. Mouth is medium bodied, a little subdued (that’s French for ’watery’) but still pleasant... Pungent happiness leads this band, then some malt kicks in, accompanied by some soapy notes (like cilantro? Haven’t eaten any today... but maybe the brewer was noshing on some salsa), finishes mildly bitter with some toast and earthy notes. Overall, this is probably my second favorite Deschutes brew I’ve had since they arrived in Chicago this past winter (Hop Henge holding the #1 spot) bytemesis (9240) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear deep orange with a medium creamy orange-beige head that dissipates slowly with great lacing. Aroma is pungent and pleasant - citrus, grapefruit, passionfruit, cat piss, pine resin all in abundance. Flavor doesnt quite live up to aroma. My first sense is "watery" the promise of all of that hop goodness on the nose falls short on the tongue. The flavors are there, but muted, like all the fun has been sucked out of them. Light sweetness and a light, almost metallic bitterness. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. I can’t point to obvious flaws in this beer, and it isn’t bad by any means, but compared to the greats of the Mosaic hop (like Sosus) it is not even on the same continent. Too bad, I was looking forward to this one. Edit - the aftertaste is just atrocious on this beer :( jmohno (1662) - Iowa, USA - JUL 9, 2013

Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a muggy weeknight after a muggy run. Definitely a steal when considering the price. Appearance is a dark amber, clear, with a very pronounced and frothy slightly off white head. Aroma is of whole cone hops, mixed with a bit of citrus, well defined. Taste is much like the aroma, oily mouthfeel, goes down smooth with a nice bitterness. Very very well done, highly up there. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Draft at Jerry’s. Copper with big, frothy, off-white head, good lacing / Mellow nose of weed, pine, spun sugar, citrus / Medium body, soft carbonation, sweet but good balance with some hop bite & astringency, and good bitter finish / Clean flavors of cut pine, weed, spun sugar, grapefruit, lemon, Jolly Rancher / Very well done, in a more steely style than the usual fruity ipa, thus the name is a little off point.

Poured from bottle. Very refreshing color.. Almost a red hue. Citra hop aroma backed up with semi sweetness flavor. Grapefruit with sugar on top and a bit of bitterness on the end!

Orange pour with an off-white head. Aroma is fresh hops-fruity. Taste is fruity hops-so damn tasty, creamy, deliscious hop-malt balance. At $5.50 a bomber, it seems a steal due to its tastiness. Great lacing. Finhead (1815) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2013
Clear, amber pour with a rocky off-white head. The aroma is herbal and earthy with some mild basement smell. It has light, watery body with average carbonation. The taste is mildly bittersweet with an easy finish. Macegan75 (880) - Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 8, 2013
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours burnt orange withsome head that mostly fades. nose is juicy fruits, citrus peal, and pale malt, first sip is similar with a nice bergamot flavor . finish is clean and dry citra hopped. very nice stuff. wheresyourball (575) - El Cajon, California, USA - JUL 8, 2013
Bomber to tulip. Pours copper colored. Nose is citrus, hops, floral. Agree with others here that the flavor is unbalanced toward fruitiness with some sour notes in there, and not enough malt backing. Smells better than it tastes... overall disappointing.
