COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of citra and mosaic hops. Don’t worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2015 Pours a nice clear amber color with a nice creamy head. Strong aroma of grapefruit and honey. Tastes sweeter than I usually prefer, but a decent drink all around.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Manzanita pint glass From: La Fiesta Liquor in Mission Valley (San Diego), Calif. Price: $12.99 for a 6-pack Purchased: Nov. 8, 2014 Consumed: Nov. 8, 2014 Misc.: Best by Dec. 11, 2014 at 10:28 a.m. Poured a caramel, honey, murky color with three fingers of khaki-white, frothy head. A decent stream of bubbles coming up at different spots of the glass. Uneven, sporadic spotty lacing along the sides of the glass. Very good retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 4.00) Smelled potent hops up front - CItra, floral, Mosaic, Simcoe and wet Cascade - grapefruit juice, tangerine rind, pine, lime, caramel, some unknown spicy peppery notes (maybe the Simcoe?), soapy malts, light buttery malts and pineapple. (Smell - 4.25) Taste wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to be. More watery with less bite. Got some hops - Citra, floral and Mosaic, creamy caramel, sharp grapefruit, pine, lime zest, honey and light soapy butter malts. (Taste - 3.88) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. Rather crisp and refreshing. (Feel - 4.25) A pretty damn good IPA. More refreshing than I thought it would be. Would have it again for sure. (Overall - 4.00) 4.02 90 A-

From a bottle...Pours clear orange amber with a two finger white head and good lacing. Citrus aroma leads to a strong grapefuit taste with hoppy mouthfeel. Another excellent Deschutes product. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear orange amber with a two finger white head. Big grapefruit and resin nose with light toffee. Lightly sweet malt backbone supports a nice bitter body. Medium slick body with a long dry bitter finish. Very nice. Very fresh.

Draft. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus and earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles. Aroma: moderate, pine hop aroma that is noticeable to the last gulp. Appearance: small, frothy, off-white initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, medium-orange body. Taste: lightly sour, grapefruit, initial flavor and heavily bitter finish with average duration. Palate: medium-to-heavy body, watery texture, lively carbonation and alcoholic finish feel. Overall: excellent. Lasting aroma, great flavor.

Very drinkable. Not over powering but plenty of hop goodness. At 6.4% abv I could see myself drinking too many of these. Wouldn’t search out for but would happily drink again.

22oz bottle - Another gift of a beer from Deschutes. Cat piss aroma, strong pine resin, grapefruit zest. Fresh squeezed indeed. A hoppy profile that rivals many IIPA’s, with a lighter than expected malt base. Truly a fantastic IPA and priced right, which is a plus in my book.

On tap at mad mex the smell is typical recent IPA BO. Pretty dark looking but fairly clear and its more like iced tea in color. Feel is mild co2 and its just barely perceivable. Almost flat. Taste is fresh sticky IPA resin fer sure. Overall what else can be said? Not impressed by the dull style.
