3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2014 Appearance - dark cloudy orange.
Aroma - mild hops. Not as fragrant as others.
Mouthfeel - mild bite from the carbs. Lingering hop taste.
Taste - citrus hops. Nice and fresh tasting. Lacks the pine and wood flavor of other IPAs but is nice. Seems slightly maltier than others but might be but not s familiar with the hops in this.
Overall - pretty nice. I like citra hops. Very drinkable. I like this. Less in your face than others like Enjoy By. Good.
It pours light amber with an off white frothy head. Head retention is excellent. It is also fairly clear. There is a strong aroma of grapefruit. There are also aromas of tropical fruit and low spice. In addition there is a low aroma of bread. The flavors are more balance with grapefruit and tropical fruit as well as the bready malt. There is low spice in the background. It has a moderate body that leans toward the full side and it is slightly slick. The bitterness is moderate lasting long into the finish. Overall this beer has a good balance between the grapefruit, tropical elements and the bread. Hopskotch (20) - Stanford, California, USA - SEP 29, 2017
My favorite fruit IPA. Great balance of citrus and hops. Not as potent as most others mezr (151) - California, USA - SEP 23, 2017
On tap at Deschutes Brewery. Beautiful clear dark orange with an off-white head. Nose is all citrus. Aptly named as a mouthful is like biting into a juicy grapefruit. Medium body, moderate bitter with a long finish. Very refreshing. MKromhoutNC (17) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 22, 2017
As usual I get no smell, must be me.
Start with a heavy taste, full beer
Not really getting any distinct flavors
...other then beer
Call it: good, not great

I have been pretty bored of all the IPAs that everyones brewing, but this one...this is a great brew. I will say though, if you haven't had this on tap then you will probably completely disagree with me. From the bottle it taste like any other IPA. But on tap this is magic in a pint glass. Nice and citrusy with the perfect hint of spruce, followed by a nice sweet finish.

I was afraid as a "fresh squeezed" it would be overly citrusy but although you taste an orange tangerine type flavor it isn't over the top and I gound enjoyed ut

One of the best IPAs available; not sure they do it, but Deschutes discovered something special when they came up with this one. So very full flavored and yet not any astringency in the hoppiness. Malty to just the right level of satisfaction. Home Run. Jayb0 (1212) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - SEP 6, 2017

: A predictably good IPA with plenty of grapefruit citrus aroma and taste. A bit of tropical. Refreshing.
UPDATED: SEP 3, 2017 Draft at the Dark Horse. Pours clear golden amber with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like grapefruit hops, orange, caramel and cookie malt. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like grapefruit hops, orange, caramel, and cookie malt. Larry_Duffman (580) - - AUG 28, 2017
I had it on tap. It pours burnt orange with an off-white head. The aroma is citrus and hops. The taste is grapefruit, orange, mango, and hops. This is really refreshing and tasty.
