COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who knows what inspired the ancients to build Stonehenge--or what inspired us to build Hop Henge in its likeness. But build it we did, out of wrapped bales of whole-flower hops out on the brewery lawn. Like the rest of the Bond Street Series, Hop Henge highlights the creativity and curiousity of our brewers. Bolder than its English ancestors, with huge hops and a bitter finish, this IPA is no wallflower.

NOTE: This is the original version. In 2007 it was bumped up to an IIPA. See that entry <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/deschutes-hop-henge-imperial-ipa/68396/>here.

So, what up with 2 beers that have practically the exact same name? Go figger, is one better than the other or WTF? This was on tap at bocktown and it’s simply a terribly on style IPA but probably nit in viscous double ipa territory. There are so many ubiquitous IPA that border on impy ipa AIDGAF.

Learninbeer (637) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - MAR 4, 2016
The aroma is hops, floral and spruce. Pours a cloudy copper/orange with an off white head somewhat lasting and excellent lacing. The taste is bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter and long. Very Good!!

A good IPA. Pours a bright clear orange with a white head. Smells of tropical fruit and hops. Pineapple. Taste is very fruity, with pineapple, mango and a balanced finish. Paired with seafood wontons, it brings out the hops a bit. Had in the bottle.
