Pours a cloudy amber color. Head lasts about 15 seconds. No nose because I have a cold. Taste explodes in mouth. Combo of ingredients and carbonation. Tastes almost medicinal with light hops and bread. Little after taste and well finished. Could drink a lot of bottles. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Isn't practically everything & every style IPA influenced today? So now octoberfest has to be IPA too? Whatever, PMO. I guess you can say don't buy it, but I say, its there and is quite affordable, so I'll tick it. It's a bottle with chunks in the bottom, malty IPA volatile nose. Eye is cloudy lighter iced tea. Big strong boozy initial uptake with a healthy uncarbonated mouth coating impact. IPA marzen? Who knows, can't get past the IPA character. Big hoppy happy BS beer, terribly on style, taste bud ruining, IPA impact; that's all that needs to be said. Finish is like the nose, volatile & medicinal. BTW, isn't marzen and fest a lager? Then, shouldn't this be IPL? Just asking, or is this just a rude ale trying to look like a marzen? Bloody mess.

Bottle from Beer Cartel on 22 December 2017. I am never disappointed with any beer from Deschutes which is why I buy their beers whenever I can. This hoppy and malty number is a s good as any beer that I have had from Deschutes and could almost be mistaken for a blend of IPA and Red Ale. Looks good in the glass with an autumn leaf colour and a tidy solid head. Went down well.

Bottle at home, all alone. Clear amber gold pour. Piney hops and bread on the nose. A malty, bready beer with astringent hops. Not an IPA so much as a hoppy Octoberfest. This bottle is about a month past prime and it has a bit of a stale turpentine thing going on in the far background. I like the idea, though.

Aroma is a mix of malts and hops. Taste is medium bitter hops with a slighty weird malt/spice mix. Overall not working.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown color with medium frothy head. Aroma of bread, hay, caramel, floral hop, grass hop. Medium body. Light sweetness. Light fruits. Medium light bitter. Not overly hoppy which I don't mind for this. its pretty good.

Bottle. I like this riff! This indeed is an interesting blend of styles, definitely carrying a bit of German festbier character, yet carrying a nice American hop flourish. (#6836, 11/21/2017)

7%ABV. IPA. Poured out deep amber. 16ºSRM. Nose is nutty with roasty aromas of chestnuts, toast and hint of caramel. Mouthfeel is beery. Palate has toasted bread crusts, brown wheat toast, water chestnuts, roasted chestnuts. There is a fairly typical middle of the palate type experience with an amber which is beery, mineral and bread-like. Hops are pine, woody, hint of citrus brightness, hint of chili or green capsicum spice. Finish is largely beery, bready and astringent woody hops.
