COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Enter, if you will, all the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop. This big, bold IPA’s intense multi-hop kick gets a subtle dose of restraint from select Crystal and Carastan malts. For discriminating hop heads.

12 oz bottle pours red amber into a tulip with plenty off white head. Aroma of pineapple, lemon grass, hops, floral. Bitter upfront with dry, piney hops; bit of detectable malty sweetness, lemon peel. Fizzy/soft on the palate with medium carbonation and body. Refreshing.

Pours dark amber with a thin white head no lacing but color is quite appealing. Smell is far too yeasty without enough flowery hop to it. Taste has a hop buzz to it but not exactly a kick, malts are possibly more prominent than hops. Palate is a short lived aftertaste with a watery feel. A nice beer for Deschutes and easily drinkable.

Bottle to glass. Copper pour with nice tall white head. A nice nose of citrus with hints of grapefruit and a slight floralness. Nice and bitter finish. Not too aggressive, yet it gets the point across. I like this beer.

Pours deep amber with an off-white head. Aromas of dank fruit and caramel. Taste is juicy citrus, fruit, caramel malt, earth, and resinous hop bitterness. Smooth and creamy with medium body. Lasting bitter finish. Something muted/musty about this, perhaps a bit unbalanced, but still a tasty IPA.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2010 On tap @ Maggie O’Tooles. Faint cinnamon aroma, pours copper with an off-white short head that leaves a coarse lace. Complex, with a sweet and spicy start after which the pine/grapefruit hops hit and last all the way through. A subtle sweetness lasts until the finish - not malty, but glucose sweet. Heavy body that underlies the whole experience and slightly oily with a great mouth feel, although there is slight soapiness in some samples. Heavier than most IPAs. Deschutes’ best!

Bottle. Smells flowery with a hop scent to it. A nice IPA that pours a nice copper color with a good head.

Pours copper with a full, sticky head and lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, lemon, and honey. Taste is somewhat malty for an IPA; with citrus and honey also present, along with a decent, lingering bitterness. Not my favorite Deschutes offering; but certainly not a bad beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
