On draft at Ojai Beverage Company. Dark amber pour with just a thin white head. Hop forward almost a Barleywine feel, but not much sweetness to balance.

Pours a deep brown with a tan head. aroma of fig and hardwood. Taste is woody and nutty. Earthy bitterness keeps it from going overly sweet. Pleasant. Thicker mouthfeel.

Draught @ Zeezicht. Opaque murky red brown color, medium sized beige head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, light hints of red fruit, sweet red currant, brown malts and caramel malts. Taste malts, caramel, dark malts, dark fruits, sweet raisins and blue grapes with a strong malt bitter finish. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Quite nice.

Pours dark with a creamy head and minimal aroma. Taste is of chocolate and cherries. Mildly silky mouth feel with a slightly bitter spruce-tip finish.

Pours dark brown with a white head holiday aroma nutmeg/eggnog? Syrupy taste with not much bitterness. Nice winter beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

D+. Pours a dark brown color with khaki head. Has a weird and bitter after taste

Pours a nice rusty red color with a thin to medium beige head. The aroma is mostly dark fruits, dates, raisins, some sweetness from the cocoa, toffee, and some caramel notes, brown bread. The flavor is similar to the aroma but the sweetness comes out more stronger than it did in the aroma and the dark fruits aren't as overpowering. The mouth feel is on the medium side and this beer is quite enjoyable.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2017 Middle of the road winter ale. All the usuals. Nuts, spices and chocolate. Doesn't really mesh as well as it's analogs.

Dark garnet color with a healthy sized head of creamy khaki colored foam. Aromas and flavors of winter spices with dark fruit like figs and dates. Has a solid caramel malt base with some earthy hops included. Very good brew to slide into the holiday season with.

12floz bottle, BBD: 05.04.2018, $1..75 unit cost, mug glass. A dark amber ale with moderate head formation, and an aroma of wild red berries and pine needle. NOt very strong English ale at all, but that's okay. It's a decent hoppy (and fairly malty) dark red ale that has flavors as described. Very much what I'd consider an evergreen beer to be, pine and dirt wrapped in a medium-full body. Not a session beer, but a pretty good stand alone (or intermixed in a session) beer.

Seems to be a well thought of beer. I did not care for it. Can't exactly say why. It was a bit better than I normally like they also had an odd taste, Chichory perhaps ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
