This is base camp, where any craft brew exploration begins. A distinct hop nose and hop-forward flavor make Mirror Pond the quintessential Pale Ale. It is aromatically complex, multi-layered, and unmistakably right.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with an off-white head. Almost catpee-ish hops in the nose, but fortunately thats just some of it, theres also citrus, pine, grapefruit and a nice grainy maltyness. Grapefruity, citrusy hops with some grains and malty sweetness giving some balance. Long bitter finish. Medium body, still feeling a bit watery. Its a nice beer, but it feels a bit one-dimentional and watery. Some more malts wouldnt hurt, but it would maybe affect drinkability, which is high in this beer. (080509)

12 oz. bottle pour to pint. Hazy dark golden with thin off-white head. Light lacing. Hoppy floral aroma with light grapefruit. Nice hop bitterness with citrus and light biscuit. Enjoyed it.

Bottle. Nice solid APA. Hoppy, citrus forward flavor and really drinkable. This one makes a great session beer with a clean finish.

Pours a coppery color with a white head. Aroma is lots of hops... grapefruit, to be specific. Flavor is bitter, citrus, quite hoppy... graperuit and lemon. On tap.

Pours orange with a thick white head. Good hop and malt aroma. Weak body. Flavor is hops with a bit of a strange golden raisin flavor. Doesnt quite work. Drinkable, but nothing special.

Single 12 oz bottle from World Market. Pours hazy amber with a moderate off-white head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of fruity and toasty malts with floral and earthy hops evident as well. Flavor of toasty and slightly caramelly malts, more of the floral hops, a little fruitiness of the not quite ripe variety and a hint of bitterness and spice in the aftertaste. Medium body and tingly carbonation. Pleasant and enjoyable but not memorable.

A nice and refreshing pale ale. Aroma was earthy hops with a hint of citrus. Pour was a hazy light brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was so so. Mostly light malt and earthy hops but the flavor is overpowered by the strong carbonation. A slightly hoppy and bitter aftertaste that isnt offensive, yet isnt exciting either. Nice beer, though.

Bottle courtesy poonpillager. Ill miss that guy. Rusty colored beer, very clear, topped by a small but firm dirty white head. Decent lacing but not much retention. Nose of citrus candy, grapefruit hops, dishwater, caramel malts and some perfume notes. Flavor is very similar, dropping the dishwater but carrying everything else over. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Finish is abrupt, caramel malts and hops. Good beer.

Dark amber beer with an off-white disappearing head; malty-citrus aroma; heavy hop flavor with a nice malt floor; finishes with hop bitterness and very slight malt sweetness
