SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - AUG 10, 2010
Draught at the Bend Brewpub. Amber with a lacey head. Lots of hops in the aroma with pink grapefruit and sweet pine dominating. Lots of hops in the flavor, front to back, balanced by a light caramel sweetness. Lots of grapefruit hop flavor and a bitter finish. Medium bodied with a lively feel. A solid, very hoppy IPA, but it stays in the predictable framework of grapefruit/pine and mild caramel. Typical of Deschutes, but makes Inversion look boring. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - JUL 29, 2010
An oasis of a sight on a blistering hot day. Highly active aroma that screams quality hops from the belltower. Lightly sweet caramel malt backbone with floral hop notes throughout. Expressive citrus character that is almost tangerine and grapefruit hybrid. Fresh pine and grass with underlying fruit sweetness.
