boring next an obsidian stout on nitro, but stands well on it’s own. thinner body, HEAVY roasted nose and flavor. very dry aftertaste, great for the style."

Draft at brewery: Very dark in color with a thinnish head. Soft and smooth on the tongue with a mild carbonation. Big roasted and toasted flavors and aromas throughout. Wonderful freshly roasted coffee notes were the highlight in this beer. Finished with a mild bitterness and a sweet aftertaste. AxeMaster221 (343) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 23, 2002
A seasonal at the brewpub in Bend, this is not nearly as heavy as the Obsidian Stout. Poured a dark brown but I could see through it when held up to the light. A wonderful whipped-cream off-white head that lasted and lasted. Nice malty roasted flavors and with such a low alcohol content, this is easy to drink in quantity. A nice summer stout.
