5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 30, 2007
Draught @ Deschutes: Black in color, ruby hues, creamy off-white head, clingy lacing.   Very soft Bourbon nose, otherwise very
pale roasted malts... Very pale.   Somewhat thin mouthfeel right off the bat. Noticeable Bourbon, however softer than expected.
Underlying Porter seems week for some reason.   Bbp is normally quite robust.   This is falling way short of other examples.
Watered down it seems.   Body and mouthfeel are bordering on the thin side.   Yeah, very watery finish.   This was quite the
letdown for a Deschutes brew. Poerter is not there, Bourbon is there but light.   Not really delivering on any level except for looks. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - NOV 13, 2006
[Draft - Nitro - Bend, Oregon] This was a great beer with the addition of some jack Daniels. Take the Balck Butte Porter and make it better very hard to do but it was done. Great beer. The whiskey flavor was sublte and awesome. Great Job Deschutes...
