4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
As of late I can not find the time to take tasting notes of each beer I sample. I would like to track and record my thoughts of each so I will just use the simple scoring rubric until more time is available.
Maybe 4 years in waiting. Needed a dark beer on a snowy Sunday night. Lots of plum and prune. Little bit of whiskey sweetness. Caramel. Some red wine notes in the aroma. Very complex. Malty. Prett flat at this point but that’s ok for a beer like this. Smooth dark malty sipping kind of beer. madmitch76 (25797) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 19, 2017

Clear deep amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, a little caramel. Spicy dried fruits. Trace of caramel. Mild marmalade. Any barrel influences are pretty subtle. Semi dry and slightly spicy finish. Tasty enough but really didn't find anything special here.
Weird. Thought I rated this along time ago. It's a bit too sweet for me but I liked the hint of pomegranate. Clerk way undercharged me too. Paid like $7. drsordr (2885) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - OCT 24, 2017
Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour hazy copper with moderate tan head and some floaters. Nose lightly soured fruit, cherry, caramel, prune, fig. Taste bigger raisin and prune. Sweeter up front, some caramel late. BuckeyeBoy (8558) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 22, 2017

Pours a nice amber with tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, oak, red wine, and rye spice. ricke49 (92) - La Pine, Oregon, USA - MAY 17, 2017
Wow. Quite a creation by Deschutes. Manages to achieve the best aspects of a Belgian quad, while providing a taste and mouthfeel similar to an English Barleywine. Sweet, smooth, rich - it’s all there. Gerbeer (4047) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 18, 2017
650 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of candi sugar, sweet malts and tobacco. Flavors of candi sugar, oak, orange peel, and dry sweet malts. Definite ABV but still super stuff. KyotoLefty (10718) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 4, 2017
Bomber, a couple years old. Nose is raisins, chocolate, vanilla. Dark brown with orange tints, almost flavor. Tart fruit flavor, like a pomigranite, a bit oxidized, with nice tart notes. A bit thin but a very good American quad. maekchu (4064) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 4, 2017
Bomber. Aged a couple of years. Rich deep dark fruit, dark sugar, and light tart berries. Reddish/brown color. Rich fruity flavors, tart prunes and berries. Thins out a touch in the finish. Very pleasant and tasty. Unfortunately, the flavors float away too quickly. Maybe should have been drunk a little earlier. Still, a top-notch quad.
