On tap at Deschutes as a counterpoint to Obsidian. Easy going, very smooth. Mellower and more chocolate than Obsidian, and a little sweet taking the place of bitter. Not in Obsiadian’s league, but not bad at all."

black, thin oily cream ring. Deep roast and cream nose, faint butter. Front palate more cream, lightly sweet, coffee growing mid before jowl begins titling with roast acidity. Only signs of sign of faint diacetyl is the slickness, roast in the end but mute as a result of thin experience. gregwilsonstl (2613) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 18, 2014
Dark black. Creamy. Big body. Roasted. Burnt but not smoked. On tap in Portland. jlf278 (288) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 1, 2008
On tap, was a little disappointing. Thought the flavor and aroma were decent but too mild. The palate was so-so and just overall, nothing exciting going on here. Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 10, 2005
Brown with ruby edges and a thick tannish head. Aromas of oatmeal cookies with roast and some chocolate with bitter hops. Nice again, the cookies come out again. The hops are more apparent with bitterness and some citrus. Thick and chewy, like the cookie!.

Sampled draught at Deschutes Public House, Bend
Dark brown color, nice head & lacing. The nose is lightly noticeable but overall fairly bland. The flavor is however rich & creamy with oats and a thick body. Finishes creamy too.
