Pours a deep brown, with a light tan colored, creamy head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Creamy smooth flavor of roasted malts and coffee. Slightly dry, with no lingering aftertaste. Great beer. Zinister (1423) - Houston, Texas, USA - JAN 26, 2008
Very dark black pour with an initial rich mocha head that leaves decent lacing. Aroma is rich roasted malts with a nutty coffee touch. Touch of milkyness. Flavor is milky chocolate with a strong roasted coffee bean flavor near the finish. Nice mouthfeel and good body. illidurit (2356) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 26, 2008
Black body, nice cascading head of a couple fingers. Modest tan lacing with nice retention.
Extremely roasty, more coffee than chocolate.
Sweet chocolate in the front of the palate with a huge dose of roasted coffee in the back. Finish is dry with a roasty bitterness.
Carbonation is great, body is rich enough to support the big flavors. Easy to have several in a sitting.

Pours an ominous black color with light brown head. Head fades fairly quickly but leaves amazing amount of circular lacings. Big bold slightly bitter coffee flavor that smooths into dark chocolate. Bought some by mistake, there were two bottes in a different descutes six-pack. Stouts aren’t really at the top of my favorites list but I enjoyed this one.

Bottled. Pours like dark brown oil with a tan head including hints of red. Aroma of dusty bittersweet chocolate. Flavour was more chocolate, some hops and even a hint of smoke. Nice, busy beer

Bottle. Pours almost black and totally opaque. The head is dark tan, short and sturdy. It holds up for a couple of minutes but eventually gives way to nice lacing. Aroma is very chocolaty with some coffee and dark fruit. Taste is solid roasted malts with quite a bit of sweetness balanced out by a higher than average hops load for the style. Palate is thick and firm with relatively low carbonation. This is a solid beer choice. AmEricanbrew (7080) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JAN 9, 2008
Opaque black with a light brown head. Medium intense malted chocolate - nutty smell. Medium bodied and softly carbonated with a smooth mouthfeel. Taste is a strong, nicely bittersweet chocolate malt flavor. Finishes with a tasty hop burp. My favorite everyday stout. RCL (2032) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 9, 2008
Very nice stout. Fairly tight nose, but nice balanced between the malt and hop flavors. A bit of molasses and a hint of baking cocoa. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 7, 2008
On nitro. Black with a 1 inch velvet head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt and a touch of hop bitterness. Flavors of roasted malts and chocolate malt with secondary notes of maple and brown sugar. Creamy and smooth. A very nice stout. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 4, 2008
Bottled. Poured deep brown with a lovely cap of delightfully dark brown head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolates and milky notes on top of darker roasted chocolates and coffee.. very well-balanced between the sweeter notes and the roasty darker ones. The flavor had sticky roasted coffee and dark chocolates at the core with mild earthy and coffee bitterness surrounding.. sweet chocolate and sour lactic notes laced throughout with grace.. caramel and molasses joined the coffee on the finish.. tasty! Medium-bodied, and it gets to be a bit tacky at times on the palate.. nice roast and a sticky finish. Overall a very good beer!
