COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

Berries, pine. Not the most modern hops, but they still work well. Like the malts who make it more original. Nice brew. (33cl bottle at Carolines in Berkeley)

Probably my favourite Deschutes beer, a massive pale ale with bread, maple syrup, peach and grapefruit aromas. There are loads of lemon, grapefruit and pine aromas plus toast with a nicely rounded palate and that alcohol and grapefruit persisting in the back of the throat long after you’ve swallowed.

Sweet malt lead on nose. Hints of citrus. Amber pour with no head. Taste leads pine, juice, and finishes with biscuit malt. Mine is a few days part date, wonder if juice would have been stronger fresh

355 ml bottle @ home.BBE 13.04.2017.
Pours clear golden-copper color with a large head. Resinous hops on the nose, some orange, mild pine notes. Flavor is juicy and fruity, some mild bitterness, resin, some caramel at the end, decent maltiness, not that bitter, a bit on the sweet side. Sadly an old bottle, so the hops are a bit weak.

Deschutes Brewing is the master of the pale ale’s. Good malty flavor well balanced with some hoppy bitterness, would recommend.

Clean dark copper color with a pillowy head of white foam. Whole grain bread, candies apple, caramel, soft citrus, and some bubblegum. Not aggressive, more relaxing like relaxing in that red chair.
