Tap @ AnniBrew 2 Barrel Aged Beer Festival... Poured a burnt reddish/orange with a thick, beige head, nice lacing. Esters and alcohol on the nose. Foamy palate. Besides the Abyss, best beer I had at Deschutes this trip. Pours a golden orange with minimal cream head. Aromas of brown sugar, chocolate, and spice. Tap at the Portland venue. SNifter. Ruddy copper pour with a clingy white head. Aromas of roast malt and fresh stone fruit. A bit of berry. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is fruit, caramel and an underlayer of kandi which tends to come out in the finish. Oak is low key. Interesting, but not a Westy 12.

Portland trip. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a clear copper color with a small white head. The aroma was strongly sweet and sugary with light ripe fruits. The flavor was somewhat mild sugar, caramel and faint fruits with a light yeasty undertone. Medium length finish and moderately full body. On tap at the Portland Deschutes pub. Pours a transparent orange, very little head. Smells a bit like a sour without the tart - dusty mandarin and grapefruit - but this is malt-heavy, very sweet. Draught @ the Portland Brew Pub poured into Snifter glass.
Pours a murky burgundy with a bubbly off-white head that quickly dissolves into a fine film in the glass and leaves a light ring. Aroma is mostly yeast with some booze and no present hops to speak of. The flavor has brown sugar, dried fruit (figs and apricots) and some caramel malts. Its a light- to medium-bodied beer that is effervescent. It a nice beer but becomes more boozy as it warms up.
