Slight sour grapes and grapefruit notes hit you when smelling. Pours a solid orange with some small sediment and solid white head. Cannot taste a hint of pomegranate, but definitely taste the rye whiskey. This is a good beer and if the pomegranate mix was skipped it would be vastly better.

(#54) 22oz bottle bought in Dec 11’. Poured into tulip. Appearance: Golden amber with a haze. Some initial head, white with not much lacing. Aroma: Sweet fruits. Cherries, pomegranates, grapes, peaches, pears. Rye whiskey notes hidden well in the back. Honey. Buttery. Taste: Sweet malt, then a little tartness/sourness from pomegranate. Clove, banana, and caramel flavors coming through. Palate: Med bodied. Smooth. Pretty good carbonation. Sour aftertaste lingering. Overall: It’s a delicious Quad. I might buy another bottle if it came around. Glad to have tried it.

Poured a very nice amber color with lingering, yet thin head. Alcohol well hidden. I got an extra to put away for a year or so.

jhamp9 (2009) - Corinth, Texas, USA - APR 1, 2012
Pours clear copper with a foamy white head that fades to a ring and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is dark fruits, wine, and some wood. Taste is figs, wine, some sweet malt, and pomegranate. Has sweet fruit finish and aftertaste. Really nice carbonation. Really enjoyable and the alcohol is nearly completely concealed.

Tap at Taste of Tops Feb 2012-Pours lite orange with a small soapy white head-Crazy nose of currants, wine, lite pecans, tobacco and lite smoke. WOW holy crap big sweet berries and lite figs on the flavors with cherries and some lite dough notes. wow this is complex and crazy! flavors of crazy boozy dark fruit and tobacco. lite body for the abv especially could be dangerous after a couple of these! a very nicely put together beer from Dechutes, especially of a style that they do not have a good track record with (belgians in general)

Gerbeer (4151) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 26, 2012
650 ml bottle. Bought at 16th St Liquor store. Belgian quad nose with light fruit backdrop. Light orange color, cloudy with suspended sediment. Belgian quad taste with spice. Warm. A good beer, but overpriced (in Canada).

Pours a hazy golden with light foam. Nose is Belgian yeast with cinnamon. Taste matches the nose. Bananas & cinnamon. Not great, but not bad. Honestly, glad I don’t have any of this beer. Not bad, but not good.

Clear medium orange colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, moderate yeasty, riped fruit, dried fruity, grape - wine. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet riped fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120202]

Blairgus (4615) - California, USA - MAR 4, 2012
3 mar 2012, bottle. Gold, lots of bubbles, lots of sediment and haze. Nose is quad yeast, golden syrup, and the faintest fruit notes. Med body and moderately fizzy. Really nice. Champaign and wine notes, slight pomegranate hints, behind the standard belgian strong ale/quad. Great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
