Appearance: clear slightly orange-tinged pale amber with a short thin light beige head diminishing rapidly to a thin cap, patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: complex, pomegranate, raspberry, caramel, oak, vinous, light whiskey, dark fruit. (8/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, modoerate-low bitter, light tart. (8/10) Palate: medium-full body, moderate carbonation, malty sweet and warming finish. (3/5)
Pretty well-behaved for a double digit boozy beast, but the flavours are complex, perhaps to the point of being a little overwhelming - the blend of different barrel ageings is a bit challenging, and I’m not completely convinced that vinous oak and whiskey work all that well together. Decent Belg-ish style, but not a home run. (15/20) libertine (442) - rochester hills, Michigan, USA - FEB 10, 2016
pours orange amber a moderate khaki head. Aroma of pomegranate, cherries, spice and wood. Flavor is a little sweet. Cherries, pomegrate, wood, spice, dry red wine and toffee. Alcohol warming in the finish. Medium/full bodied with a sticky texture. Moderate carbonation. A nice quad and the barrel ageing gives it a unique complexity. The wine barrels win out of the rye barrel here. You don’t get much of the barrel ageing in the aroma but the wine is present in the taste. Little pricey for the value here but definitely a very good quad. reebtogi (6378) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 1, 2016
650ml bottle pours a golden color with a finger of white head that retains well and leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is slightly woody with some grape notes and sugars. Taste is a big malty and fruity sweetness with a mild spicy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Alcohol is well hidden. A very simple quad that is quite sweet and not as complex as it should be. A little disappointing. olio (10547) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 18, 2016
65 cl bottle (10.9% abv). BBE 08.05.2016.rosenbergh (11799) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 18, 2016
Pours clear orange-golden color with a small head. Sweet ripe fruits on the aroma, must admit, the pomegranate is present, very faint hops, wood from the barrels, not quite getting the whiskey. Rye on the flavor, sweet caramel, mild berry notes, wood and subtle whiskey notes. Balance is not that great, feels a bit messy or to be exact, leans more towards the fruits and not the malt body. Sweet and a bit disappointing.
22 oz bottle. 10.9%. BB 05/08/16. Courtesy of olio.

The flavor is sweetness, fruits, caramel, more sweetness, some alcohol, dark fruits and prunes. Quad?
Draught at Harry’s Hofbrau. Pours clear whiskey color with minimal off-white head. Not terribly complex, but enjoyable and quaffable. blueshockey24 (649) - Colorado, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Bottle. Pours dark golden. Aroma is fruity with whiskey. Taste is sweet and spicy with a alcohol whiskey sweet spice finish. lingering fruit. Maris (1585) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JAN 2, 2016
From a 650ml bottle on 2/1/2015. Pours a clear dark golden with a small head. The nose is typical big Belgian - fruit, yeast, candy. Take a sip and it’s sweet and fruity, and definitely lighter than you’d normally expect from a quad. This is a really sugary, fruity, oaky sipper, with a hint of warming alcohol. Pretty easy drinking for 11%. The texture is slightly syrupy and the carbonation soft. Not super complex or challenging but very enjoyable. ljthiessen (1438) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 31, 2015
Bottle. Cloudy golden amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma is some citrus zest, touch of tropical fruit. Taste is rich and fruity, touch of bread. Nice. rayaron (1992) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - DEC 22, 2015
Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer and Beyond, Tel Aviv. Slightly hazy golden with small off-white head. The aroma is yeasty with notes of candy, peach and hint of banana. Very sweet flavor with notes of pomegranate and liqueur, very alcoholic, yeasty, some white wine sourness. Full-bodied. Quite hard to drink.
