Bottle. Pours still and roughly off-yellow. Sampled this chilled to about 45 degrees. The aroma is very raw of fresh honey with some hints of fruits, though I probably couldn’t identify blackberry had I not read it on the label. It has a medium level of sweetness, for mead, with a finish that brings out some earthy notes. It actually hints at yeast a bit underneath the fruity sweetness. Not too bad, but not my favorite mead. Straw color. The honey and blackberries in the aroma are a bit subtle but the flavor very nice blend between the berries and honey in this semi-sweet melomel. Moderately warming. “Desi & Jack’s” is named after the maker’s cat & the apiarist.
