Dark pour with tan lacing head. Nose is roast with coffee and grainy notes. Refreshing dry bitterness in the mouth.
On tap at Cottonwood. Pours a very dark brown with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is roast, cocoa, wood. Thick body, roast, wood, dark chocolate, dry finish, decent. katrinaez (2085) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 2, 2016
Nice thick malty scent and taste. Sinew cocoa and nutty aroma, but taste had more nutty and a lot less cocoa. A little roasted malt and tiny barley nip. Dark brown, almost black color. Dry and full mouth. Tap csaso (2285) - Missouri, USA - JAN 12, 2016

On tap at Barrels and Bottles. Black appearance with a big, lingering and tan head. Big roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate, wood, earth, light citrus zest and a hint of peaty smokiness. Similar flavor, moderate roasted bitterness with a light dry finish. A little thin, but a solid stout overall.

Exactly what a Stout should be! With lots of Imperial Stouts out there I was looking for something big and roasty, but lower in alcohol. This hit the nail on the head for me. Malt profile is amazing, nothing overwhelming about the hops, perfectly balanced. Love it! Travlr (25267) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 9, 2015
Draft. Very dark brown color, tan head. Aroma of coffee grounds and bitter cocoa. Taste is espresso beans, bitter chocolate. Very tasty. b3shine (8940) - Indiana, USA - JAN 8, 2015
Draft to mini-snifter at Destihl. Looks good; an opaque dull black with light beige head. Smells of a nice balance of dark malt and roast. Tastes like it smells with a fairly bitter medium light-bodied mouthfeel. A nice example of the style. BillKismet (4075) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2015
Black-bodied, with a lightly browned head. Lovely roasty bouquet boosts the olfactory temperament. There is a wetness to the aroma along with some sweet sasparilla notes. Roasty body with nutty bursts. Dusty roast finish. AWISLguy (3180) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 29, 2014
Growler from Ray’s in Tosa. Pours cola colored with a bit of a foamy brownish head. The lacing left after the second pour. Aroma has bakers chocolate, espresso, caramel and some simple sugar. Taste is of rich soft chocolate tones, with espresso and a solid caramel malt base. Maybe some belgian-y yeast spiciness, down through the glass. Medium to full bodied and fairly dry without much alcohol presence. Finishes bitter and sweet, with solid parts of both. Interesting flavor 14.4
