Pours like a chocolate milk shake. Dark brown with a dark tan head. Heavy bourbon, but man this is a smooth palate. Alcohol is not harsh at all. Really good and impressive use of the bourbon barrel. Perhaps the rye smoothens ot out even more. deyholla (12663) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 6, 2018
Bottle. Pours near black with a light brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has sweet dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of rye and a bit of soy sauce underlying. Flavor has dark grains and rye whiskey with a bit of bitter roasted malts supporting. thomashall (1602) - New Hope, Minnesota, USA - JAN 6, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 500ml bottle shared by Yanif, thanks! Dark pour. Aroma is dry rye whiskey mostly. Taste follows, didn't like this as much as the bourbon barrel. BVery (11491) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JAN 6, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2018 Bottle shared by Yaniv - thanks! Dark dense pour with a small dense head. Wood, some booze warmth, and some rye character. Delicious. ryanfolty (2659) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - DEC 30, 2017
December 30, 2017 - bottle via Evan as an extra in our trade today. Very dark pour with some head. Aroma was very strong - sweet malt, wood and rye whiskey. The taste was powerful as well with a heavy dose of the spicy heat from the rye whiskey. Quite a bit of wood and sweetness, but hard to appreciate as this was hot from start to finish. 2017 vintage, wish I let this sit for a couple years.

Destihl’s Rye Barrel variant of Dosvidanya is an intense yet carefully balanced brew. Pitch black pour with a slow-forming but creamy tan head. Dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted grain aromas. So many of the barrel-aged Stouts on the market rely almost entirely on the barrel for the flavor influence, but Dosvidanya wisely showcases it as just as element. Chocolate, coffee, grass, tobacco, and just a bit of rye whiskey character. It’s a thick, rich beer but there’s a lot of bitterness coming through. Destihl has made some nice attempts with Imperial Stouts previously, but they really seem to be coming into their own with this series.
