COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This West Coast/Rocky Mountain-style India Pale Ale is back-hopped for a more intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma without the balance of caramel malts like our Midwest-style Baldock IPA. It has medium-high alcohol content, high fruity, floral and citrus-like American-varietal hop character, deep golden color and medium maltiness.

Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz can. Light golden pour, light snow with head, not much lacing. Aroma is that of juicy fruit gum and floral highlights, touch of spruce. Succulent flavor, some citrus bitter sweetness, a bit of cake mix sweetness, hint of trailing spearmint. Decently thick mouthfeel.

Can. Pours a cloudy light tan color. Medium head. Citrus and pine aroma. Medium bitterness. Average carbonation. Same taste. It's ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Average can. Misty, butterscotch tan with a nice, tall white head. Toffee, caramel, pineapple in the aroma. Slight diacetyl notes up front, moderately bitter towards the back. Malt does a Jekyll-and-Hyde vacillation between dry and lightly sweet. Biscuity notes, moderately aggressive hops, Overall, a nice balance, but not that remarkable. Beer Stop, Tallahassee.

DOC: 4/28/2017

2015 BJCP Category: 21A American IPA

AROMA: Fairly strong American hop aroma of citrus; especially orange and lemon. Lightly sweet malt presence complements the hops. Minor alcohol scent. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Pale orange/dark amber hue; hazy body with CO2 visible. Medium-large white frothy head retains and laces well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Hop-forward palette with flavors of orange juice and lemon pith up front and earthy/piney character on the back. Bitterness is firm with a dry sensation, but nothing absurd. Malt base is a little sweet with perhaps a light caramel character. Seems a bit sweeter than the average IPA. 16/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; medium-high carbonation. Fairly smooth with a crisp finish and minor astringent aftertaste. Though only 6.3% ABV there is subtle alcohol warmth. No drinkability issues otherwise. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: A little sweeter and maltier than I prefer in an IPA, but otherwise quite tasty and drinkable. 8/10

TOTAL SCORE: 40/50

A nice beer with significant malt. Enough hops to make it a nice ipa especially in the finish. It lacks the big aromatics up front to make it a California style. Golden color but no head or lacing

FROTHINGSLOSH (8069) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 5, 2017
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark golden color with a large foamy white head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy with pine and lemon notes. The flavor was sweetish and yeasty with pine, lemon and pepper. Long finish with lingering sweet pine. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

Tap Hollywood Gardens. Pale yellow. Nose is mild hop perfume laced with female BO. Thick viscous mouth coating & rude. Terribly on style. Yes, long, chewing on green grapefruit rinds, finish. What else can be said? Whew. Every-time I think I’m getting used to IPA, a really on style one like this sets me back again.
