COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The aroma and flavor of this classic hefeweizen (or weissbier/wheat beer with yeast) is decidedly fruity with clove, nutmeg-like and even vanilla-like phenolics. Banana-like esters are also present. This beer is made with over 50 percent malted wheat, and hop rates are quite low, with hop flavor and aroma being absent. Hefeweizen is well attenuated and very highly carbonated, yet its relatively high starting gravity and alcohol content make it a medium-full bodied beer. The color is very pale. Because yeast is present, the beer will have yeast flavor and a characteristically fuller mouthfeel and is appropriately very cloudy. Alcohol by Weight (Volume): 4.6% (5.9%) Bitterness (IBU): 14 Color SRM (EBC): 4 (8)

Draft at Baileys range. Pours yellow with a white head. Leave some lacing in the glass. Solid banana and clove on the nose and tongue. Finished clean. Solid, quaffable example of the style.

Can. Hazy yellow pour with a very small white head;especially so for a Hefe. Aroma of doughy yeast and banana. The flavor is fruity, lightly sweet some banana. OK

Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz can. Slight murkiness to the medium golden pour with nary a head, kind of lifeless. Aroma has a brief hint of cloves, some glue - like artificial notes. Flavor is standard American hefe, light banana, a touch of banana, hints of coriander. Slightly artificial. Mouthfeel kind of pasty.

can @ Calandros / Baton Rouge LA --- 06/28/16 --- Nearly clear medium golden amber, off-white head that shrinks to a thin rim, spots of lace. Another beer from Calandros that isnt fresh. Taste is malt and wheat that move through light fizz to an odd hop overtone. Medium finish. Age has not benefited this brew. Undrinkable in its present form.

12 oz. canned 08/25/2016. Foggy, golden pear colored with a thin film of foam. Nose has banana, citrus, bread and a touch of clove. Flavors of spicy banana bread, light lemon juice, earthy-spiced pear and caramel. Finish has some crisp wheat and spicy dryness. Near-medium bodied with medium carbonation and a good drinkable balance. Nice American replica of the venerable style.

Aroma as faint wheat. Standard cloudy yellow appearance with a big head. Flavors were pronounced wheat mixed with banana and clove. Traditional and good. Nice full palate.

Sampled on the bus during RBSG 10 from notes. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, cloves, banana, additional spices, pretty standard Hefe, kind of got lost with everything else.

Tap at Grizzlys. Slightly hazy yellow pour with a white head. Slightly sour citrus. Some wheat. Not sure this is much of a traditional Hefeweizen but its a decent lightly sour wheat.
