COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The aroma and flavor of this classic hefeweizen (or weissbier/wheat beer with yeast) is decidedly fruity with clove, nutmeg-like and even vanilla-like phenolics. Banana-like esters are also present. This beer is made with over 50 percent malted wheat, and hop rates are quite low, with hop flavor and aroma being absent. Hefeweizen is well attenuated and very highly carbonated, yet its relatively high starting gravity and alcohol content make it a medium-full bodied beer. The color is very pale. Because yeast is present, the beer will have yeast flavor and a characteristically fuller mouthfeel and is appropriately very cloudy. Alcohol by Weight (Volume): 4.6% (5.9%) Bitterness (IBU): 14 Color SRM (EBC): 4 (8)

Grain, grapenuts, banana aroma. Hazy amber, thick head. Mealy wheat, unripe banana. Medium body, easy carbonation. Real German yeast, which makes all the difference.

It pours hazy yellow with a white head. There are flavors of banana and cloves with low bubble gum. It has wheat in the background.

Pours a pale yellow color. Quite cloudy. Lots of sediment. Super carbonated. Lovely swirls of darker yellow throughout and on the top. About two fingers white head that reduces to just a film and light splotches on the side.

Aroma is yeast and banana, clove and coriander. This has so much banana that if I were blindfolded I would guess it either has banana floating inside, or banana garnish.

Taste is banana and yeast. A touch sour. Light coriander and even less clove. Again, almost like it had extra banana added. Banana tapers off as it warms

Mouthfeel is medium light bodied. It's slightly wet. Quite smooth, doesn't taste as carbonated as what it looks. Pretty drinkable

Overall it's pretty good. Wasn't quite expecting a banana bomb. I'd buy it again, and I'd drink it again.

Lemon-gold and cloudy with a very thin head and a banana, mildly spicy nose. Nicely-carbonated with a light mouthfeel and a bubblegum, banana finish.

Draft @ Old Chicago. Aroma is light cove, banana. Clear golden color, thin white head, good lacing. Pretty good banana flavor, light bubble gum & clove. Med body. Good hefe!

Pours pale cloudy yellow with thin white head. Nose is wheat, clove, banana, and pear. Taste is similar with slightly sour component that is atypical for a hefeweizen. Not the best wheat beer I've had, but this one has been sitting in a can for awhile.

Enjoyed at BTBF 2017. Cloudy yellow color. White head. Sweet grain, banana notes, yeasty. Banana flavor, Belgian yeast, warm finish edging on hot.

Draft at Bailey’s range. Pours yellow with a white head. Leave some lacing in the glass. Solid banana and clove on the nose and tongue. Finished clean. Solid, quaffable example of the style.

SpringsLicker (3664) - Tennessee, USA - APR 3, 2017
Can. Hazy yellow pour with a very small white head;especially so for a Hefe. Aroma of doughy yeast and banana. The flavor is fruity, lightly sweet some banana. OK

PorterPounder (8226) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 25, 2017
Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz can. Slight murkiness to the medium golden pour with nary a head, kind of lifeless. Aroma has a brief hint of cloves, some glue - like artificial notes. Flavor is standard American hefe, light banana, a touch of banana, hints of coriander. Slightly artificial. Mouthfeel kind of pasty.
