COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The aroma and flavor of this classic hefeweizen (or weissbier/wheat beer with yeast) is decidedly fruity with clove, nutmeg-like and even vanilla-like phenolics. Banana-like esters are also present. This beer is made with over 50 percent malted wheat, and hop rates are quite low, with hop flavor and aroma being absent. Hefeweizen is well attenuated and very highly carbonated, yet its relatively high starting gravity and alcohol content make it a medium-full bodied beer. The color is very pale. Because yeast is present, the beer will have yeast flavor and a characteristically fuller mouthfeel and is appropriately very cloudy. Alcohol by Weight (Volume): 4.6% (5.9%) Bitterness (IBU): 14 Color SRM (EBC): 4 (8)

(can) Pours a hazy gold color with a medium white head that quickly drops to virtually nothing. Aroma of dried banana chip, orange creamsicle, baked bread, and canned pears. Little semblance of some hop zing here as well, but it’s pretty underwhelming aromatically in comparison to a quality hefe. Flavor follows suit with some insipid lemon character, faint banana chip, vanilla, and a baked bready finish that’s not crisp enough. Mouthfeel is too light and not creamy enough to contain the spritzy carb. Overall this is a pretty middling rendition of the style.

Interesting aroma, reminds me a little of green olives. Body is very thin, unlike a typical hefe. Minor cloves in the flavor, but no banana here.

12oz can. Clear golden color with no foam. Light berry fruit, citrus, bready, spicy aromas. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Bready doughy wheat flavors with some berry, citrus fruitage----decent wheat brew____not a hefe.

Can that poured a hazy orange yellow color eggshell head. The aroma is classic hefe wheat bananas and Belgian yeast flavor is more of the same with some pepper or spice doesn’t really mesh well. Not a great hefe and not the worst just so so

12 oz. can. Pours clear gold with barely any head just a few bubbles. Aroma has banana light bubblegum bready yeast malt. Taste has more the same as the aroma banana spice bubblegum wheat bread subtle yeast. Palate seems under carbonated and thin. Blah.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours cloudy gold with a white head. Taste sweet, fruity, banana. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

can. Lightly hazy golden with one finger head. Very average take on a hefe. Mild wheat body, light banana and spice. I’ve had good luck with this brewery, but found this a bit underwhelming.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2016 Growler from abc in FL. Smells like lemon cleaner. Looks great. For hefe, seems lacking. Flavor is flat. Addendum: just had a can. Hefeweizen? Not even close. Fruity (blueberry?). Plain. Lowered my rating

Draft to taster at the Champaign brewpub. Looks solid; a mildly hazy gold with white head that dissipates into lacing pretty quickly. Smells yeasty with notes of clove and mild banana. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced. Heavier on the clove with a touch of grain as well. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. A decent example of the style.

From the can. Hazy gold with zero head, zero bubbles, zero carbonation. So apart from being flat, there are hints of banana and spice, perhaps a touch of citrus. Meh.
