This IPA poured hazy dark straw with minimal head. I noted feety Santiam hops, but was told that they are Williamette. At any rate, they were bold and nicely balanced by a good malt presence. Very nice. Emerson continues to improve at a stunning rate. Fitzy (8) - USA - JAN 3, 2006 does not count
Very good IPA...espeacially the Unfiltered version. If the Unfiltered is on tap then the Filtered usually is as well. weeare138 (936) - Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 2, 2005
Appears a hazy cloud of unfiltered amber with a decent 2 finger white head. Spotty lacing is left.
Smell is of citrus and pine with a mild caramel malt.
Taste is about the same as the aroma. Very clean and nice.
Mouthfeel is ok. Some bitterness is balanced out with malt and just a touch of thin water along the tongue.
Drinkability is good. I was pleasantly surprised as the IBU’s seem to have been kicked up a notch and there is evident dry hopping in the aroma. Good work, Emerson! obxdude10 (2392) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 15, 2005
Not very impressed with this IPA, the offering on the handpump was a lot better than regular draft, medium in body, fairly smooth & drinkable, decent amount of hops, crisp, dry, decently balanced, could have used a lot more hops just as in their other pale ale, a little touch of caramel malt in the flavors, dry & tangy finish

On tap at the Destiny Brew Pub. I tasted this side by side with the cask & regular tap versions. Poured a dark amber color and slightly hazy (the cask version was clear) with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of pine, citrus and caramel (caramel being the main aroma in the cask version). Tastes of caramel, citrus, oranges and light pine. Medium bitter.

Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, light pine resin and citrus fruits. Taste of caramel malt and a touch of pine up front, while ending with some citrus and a lightly bitter, grapefruit finish.
