Aroma is sweet with some rubber and alcohol. Also salty licorice and herbal tones. Flavour is sweet with sting of alcohol, some dark chocolate, coffee and salty licorice. Too boozy, but could work as a slow sipper.
Bottle 330ml vintage 2011 (WPBF)olio (10434) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 4, 2014
Opaque black color, small brownish head. Licorice, roasted malts in the nose. Full-bodied, sticky palate. Very, very sweet. after 2,5 years still. Syrupy, roasted malty flavor. Alcohol is buried under the sweetness. Doesn’t taste very complex.

Pours dark brown, almost black color with a small head. Aroma of tar, some caramel malts, cocoa, mild coffee and wood. Flavor of tar, syrup, caramel malts, cocoa, faint vanilla and cognac notes. Thick oily palate, sweet lingering syrup finish.

overall sweet and sticky, lovely notes of raisins, maple syrup and sweet malts, paired with some chocolate and small roasty flavours.
Not too much booze, and little cognac in aroma and flavour, pretty nice !!
Bottle of 2011. Black with virtually no head. Aroma is soy sauce, liquorice, cognac, oak. Syrupy mouthfeel, sweet on the palate with a hint of umami on the finish. Taste is liquorice, chocolate, cognac, blackcurrant. Meilby (11570) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 28, 2013
Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjeryngwie (17109) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 18, 2013
Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, cooked vegetable, soya, dried fruits, syrup and alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, sweet, oak and fruity finish. Body is full, texture is sticky, carbonation is soft.
Bottle. A slow gusher, producing a black body under a dense, finger-thick light tan head. Boozy nose with licorice, roasted malts and some dried fruits. Seeing that the beer is made with raisin syrup doesn’t surprise me. Boozy in the mouth as well, with roasted malts, some soy sauce and sweet licorice. Full-bodied, warming and soft on the palate, with a lasting finish. A tasteful and pleasant beer I’d very much enjoy again. It’s warming, but I think the alcohol level suited the beer just fine. 121130 larsga (7608) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 15, 2013
Medium dark brown head. Opaque black body. Earthy chocolatey toffee aroma, simple but harmonic. Sweet-dryish cocoa and spicy burnt taste with roasty grainy notes. Full-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel goes sharp at end. Dryish cocoa and alcohol aftertaste with earthy sugary minty notes. Highly drinkable and surprisingly smooth. (0.33l bottle, from gr0ve.)
