Pours dark maber with low off white head Aromas of burned dark sugar, oak, resin, caramel malts and liqourize Nice sweet, round body with a medium bitter almost oaky finish. Low carbonation. Alcohol quite well hidden. More belgian strong ale than barley wine. Nice stuff!

omhper (24961) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 18, 2013
Bottled, from Systembolaget. Clear copper colour, small head. Floral nose with dates and dark bread. Sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Sweet raisiny malt with good depth, balanced with resinous bitter hops. Warming and rich, yet mild. A gem!

Ktwse (4785) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2013
Pours a clear, deep mahogany with about two fingers of thick yellow tan head. Aroma of toffee, nuts, caramel malt, light banana and light soy. Taste has a very instant pungent bitterness that's quickly balanced by alcohol sweetness. In some ways it's reminiscent of an Abt. Body is rich and creamy with low, balanced carbonation. Tasty! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tjoxen (173) - SWEDEN - MAR 13, 2013
Pours clear brown with tanned head. Aroma of dark dried fruit and sweet malt. Taste of licorice(!), dried fruit, dates, raisins and caramel. The taste is so much better than the aroma. This is really nice!

jesperhammer (4725) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 28, 2013
28-FEB-2013, bottle @home, from Fish & Beer. Murky brown with lasting, creamy, tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, dark fruits, caramel, alcohol, tobaco, shoe polish (the brown color!), wood, cigars. Extremely complex. Taste the same. Sweet with loads of malts. Full body, soft carbonation. A little hoppy bitterness, but nothing compared to many other Det Lille Bryggeri. Fantastic barley wine. One of - if not the - best from Det Lille Bryggeri.
