Bottled. A very dark brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, sweet and roasted malt, and some fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of sweet malt, as well as a bit of roasted malt, combined with medium notes of alcohol and dry fruits, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. A bit boring.

Bottle 25 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours a cloudy and opaque brown with a beige head. Fat hops in the nose, some nuts and roasted malts. Solid body, very nutty and a little ashy. Warming alcohol finish. Nice, but I’d like some more sophisticated aroma hops. 090410

Das Bier hat eine sehr dunkel rötlichbraune Farbe und eine gering bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv malzig, viel reifes Obst, süß, alkoholisch. Geschmack holzig, sehr malzig, reifes Obst, alkolisch das hohe Alter merkt man schon!

Tasting at Papsø
Dark brown color. The arma is light, with some alcohol and liquorice, amlt and hops. Sweet malt flavor, tobacco, chocolate, caramel, some liquorice, a bit salty in the end; good bitterness level and just some warmth feeling from the alcohol; it gives a dusty impression, and it has some more roasted malt in the end, and hints of Italian Amaro (digestive liquors). Pleasant.
